My Dearest Mundane,
Ah, it seems it has been quite some time since I have written to you in this manner. Rest assured it is because I have been preoccupied! Not that... you've given me much to
do on that godforsaken spaceship, but I do like your idea of a "canon update." I will be much more willing to interact with people in the present-day, and the renewed confidence that a half century will bring will do me good.
I do sincerely appreciate that you want to avoid the heartbreak of losing her without any knowledge of where she's gone off to. Truly, that is something I can live without, and I am glad you're figuring a way around it with the canon update. With memories of nearly sixty years of being back home, I will at least know that she was safe. However I must caution you against your attachment to us. Though I love her dearly, and the thought of losing her is... truly frightening to me, I would not simply cease to exist if she were gone. We are made to endure; remember that. You certainly seem to remember that concept when she and I are
together...All that aside - you are looking at flights? Yes? You have a plan to cut coupons for groceries and put the saved money towards airfare to come visit me?
Mundane, I am so
very proud of you.
Except that you haven't practiced all week. Keep at it. You'll go nowhere if you're not in shape to take any audition at a moment's notice.
Your Most Loyal Muse,
Roderich Edelstein
