on canon updates and wifething dropping and frugality
My Dearest Mundane,
Ah, it seems it has been quite some time since I have written to you in this manner. Rest assured it is because I have been preoccupied! Not that... you've given me much to do on that godforsaken spaceship, but I do like your idea of a "canon update." I will be much more willing to interact with people in the present-day, and the renewed confidence that a half century will bring will do me good.
I do sincerely appreciate that you want to avoid the heartbreak of losing her without any knowledge of where she's gone off to. Truly, that is something I can live without, and I am glad you're figuring a way around it with the canon update. With memories of nearly sixty years of being back home, I will at least know that she was safe. However I must caution you against your attachment to us. Though I love her dearly, and the thought of losing her is... truly frightening to me, I would not simply cease to exist if she were gone. We are made to endure; remember that. You certainly seem to remember that concept when she and I are together...
All that aside - you are looking at flights? Yes? You have a plan to cut coupons for groceries and put the saved money towards airfare to come visit me?
Mundane, I am so very proud of you.
Except that you haven't practiced all week. Keep at it. You'll go nowhere if you're not in shape to take any audition at a moment's notice.
Your Most Loyal Muse,
Roderich Edelstein

Also, with you on the wife issue. Can't say I miss mine much.
...alright, I can say that and I most assuredly will be saying that when I see her next, but, you know what I mean. Life goes on.

Rough patches just show passion! Nothing quite like passion, wouldn't you agree, vielgeliebtes Österreich?

You're quite the lover, Österreich, your Ungarn is lucky.

[oh
well]
A-ah. Thank you. I... probably have said too much.

Austria, sweet Austria, I'm the stuff legends are made out of.
Literally.
THAT ICON
I was talking about love as a concept, not me as a concept.
[what]
ISN'T HE GLORIOUS
I was talking about you and me having sex.

[ She whistles a bit. ]
Wow 1955 is way-back isn't it? About over one thousand years or so.

[ She's too busy drinking blood and being all over Kaname. ]

[ Well this is odd, a pureblood should know this things. ]
Do you happen to know everything about your country? The people, the music, etc?

Sounds like one of those movies America would make, but one of the totally campy B grade ones that you rent when it's raining out and you're seriously bored or something.

But really it's like too bad that your better half dropped. Seriously. Hungary's influence is totally the only thing that makes you tolerable somedays.
[He means this in the most playful way possible, of course.]

Also if you keep that up, I may leave Chopin out of my next performance.

And yet... still she sounds more fun than you do.
Pfft! [Laughs] Like as if!
That's an empty threat if I ever heard one. But I mean even if you did, it's not some big loss. Not like a stuffy Austrian can do Chopin justice as well as a Pole can. [Wiggles his fingers teasingly over some invisible piano keys.]

Oh, come now. I've got folk elements from virtualy everywhere. I've picked up a lot of nuance, you know.
