I think part of the reason you feel the way that you do is because the other two don't really have goals like that. It's not any fault of theirs; you know that. You also know that they'll both find their ways, though. He just needs to sort out his feelings, and she has to figure out how to start anew.
Give them time. Don't be so hard on yourself. Take a hiatus if you need to.
