I have duties aboard the ship I need to get back to, not to mention that the captain will inevitably get into trouble and it would be far worse than otherwise if I'm not around to at least attempt to stop him. Doubly so if Trip's involved as well.

...Really, it would be far better for everyone if I wasn't here and instead back on the ship. Things would end up quite badly for Enterprise if I'm not there to lessen the damage inflicted upon it and the crew.
