Okay, so not like I'm protesting about going to a place where there's, like, something akin to the internet and all, and technology, and flush toilets, and video games, but Terry and I've made a lot of progress with the Charternet and, you know, they kind of need me here?  Considering that I'm like the only one who can do this job.  (For the Charter's sake, why did they set it up like that, that's a terrible plan.)

I mean, I wish the Old Kingdom didn't need me, but I also don't want to be the one responsible for the real-deal zombie apocalypse when it's all riding on me, you know?

Yeah, I mean--they haven't got a lot of communication infrastructure up here, what with the fact that any outside tech doesn't work here, so I told Terry about how the internet works, and we've been working out how to set up a magic version...

I know, right? At least I wasn't here when they had to deal with the Ninth, I don't think I could have done it. Although I think there is, like, actually a Destiny-capital-D thing?

But yeah, we've figured out a way to use Charter Stones as local routers and traffic controls, and being able to send stuff between them. The hard part is interfaces, since there's not really a standard for that here. They don't even have typewriters! Or pencils, for that matter. People write with dip pens here.

On the other hand, it might end up being kind of handy, since that way we can get around the less actually-useful UI conventions that people in Ancelstierre expect.

...but, uh, it's not actually my job, so I can't work on it as much as I'd really like to, sadly. Haha! I spend a lot of time thinking about it when I'm on the road, though.
