Sort of annoyed; sort of unsure. These Eridans really had a weird way in making his feelings go all loopy... in a weird, loopy, sort of fatherly way. He, too, harboured emotions excessively like Eridan.
Let's look at the options in all honesty for a second.
Somewhere, deep down there, a part of him really didn't want to kill Eridan, but he couldn't easily make that known after reacting so negatively towards him.
I mean, he resembled himself so much.
And although Eridan disappointed him a lot, he knew there was potential there. Somewhere. There had to be if he had so much of a resemblence of himself. So really, Dualscar didn't want Eridan dead. Just kind of... around so he could verbally insult. Maybe even hit across the face.
Here and now, though, and unknown to Eridan's knowledge, he had proven himself already.
Well, sort of. I mean, not proven himself completely, but in a way.
An amount of unspoken envy was burning for the bravery he was displaying. Although Orphaner had years and years of building up walls around his heart and putting on a facade of everything Eridan had just praised him for, he really was a coward. Bitter and disappointed at himself, and the rest of the world.
But after Eridan said he would be disappointed in him for being that way, well, he couldn't exactly stop now, could he? For the love of sweet jegus, Dualscar was repulsed at himself for wanting to even impress Eridan. I mean, look at him. He was so pathetic; it was beyond a doubt he held so much of Dualscar's own personality.
Dualscar turns on his heels, ignoring the knot in his stomach as he crouches, an uneasy sneer on his face, razor sharp teeth glistening over his lips. It was an odd look that Eridan probably hadn't seen before, yellow eyes glaring, cheeks tinted purple with utter fury.
It was a wave of emotions bundled up in one facial expression, and a low growl even vibrated within the back of his throat as his fins pressed tightly against the side of his face.
He didn't really have anything to say. He didn't want to display any hesitance, so with a near roar, he unleashed Ahab's Crosshair's upon his descendent.
One shot after another after another after another. ]

He repeats this each time Dualscar fires at him, matching his marksmanship with his own and the power of his weapon seemed to easily match the crosshair's blasts, blowing away each shot with ease. He was, however, careful enough not to put too much energy into it. He didn't want to overpower the crosshairs so much that the attack followed through and made it seem like he was actually shooting at Dualscar; he didn't want to hurt him after all, just impress him.
This...was pretty much the highlight of his entire cycle.]

Well, an impressive weapon in any case. Boy, the things Orphaner could have done if they had that when he was a youngun. The things he could kill with elegance and ease; a simple flick of the wrist.
So, he was more impressed with the weapon. And actually wanted it.
Eridan's hand-eye coordination was impressive, but like hell he was going to praise him for any of that. If he did, he wouldn't hear the end of it from this Eridan ever again.
Once it is all over and the smoke begins to clear, Dualscar doesn't seem to be anywhere in sight.
