[Whenever Jake's not really doing anything, he still thinks about them--his friends--handling things without his leadership. Of course he misses them all. This especially includes his parents...and Tom. Would he ever be freed from the terrors of being helpless in his head, as a Yeerk used him to conquer their home world?

At the same time, he's freaking out on the inside about them ever getting stuck where he is, facing enemies worse than Yeerks. There's someone he knows who is so horrible, terrifying, and powerful that she can somehow hide from the god-like Ellimist's watch. Visser Three wouldn't be able to put up much of a fight at all against her...

Jake's mentally shaking off these worrisome thoughts before they start to really sink in. He can't allow himself to get worked up about this, not now. Not ever.]
