Anyway, my point is, thanks for picking me out of all your agents to get your party started. Am I right?

Not - that - this is a party. These missions are serious business. It was just a figure of speech. You know that, as an agent, I've trained myself to desire absolutely no fun on the job.

And, I mean, let's be real - you would totally take an agent more seriously than a salesman, if it came right down to it.

I mean, I guess when it gets down to it, we're not. We're just selling them, so we're really just salesmen. But we like to avoid that fact.

Um. Sure. Which series is that from again? I used to read a lot of fantasy, but I'm blanking right now. It's upsetting.

Um, a lot of series, I guess! But, well, I'm the Witch, and a friend of mine is a Sylph. But we both play the same role! Just the names are different is all.

Oh, I get it. You guys are in one of those tabletop games? Which one? I played some D&D back in college, but that was just a disaster and did not boost my street cred whatsoever.

Because it's pretty cool. I want one.

I guess so! You could call it that, but it's not really something that can just be handed out. Something really bad has to happen to you before you can get it.

I'm not really sure I understand it, either, but it's all part of this game that some friends and I are playing. It's an alternate reality game, and, if you die while playing the game and you're laying on a thing called a quest bed, then you come back to life and ascend to the god tiers, which are really, really high levels in the game. It makes you really really powerful!

Oh! Okay. So it is a tabletop game. Or. One of those RPG things. With really freakin' awesome technology.

Well, it's not really a tabletop game, but it is some pretty amazing technology!

... I don't actually know. But I bet it was somebody really, really strong. Strong enough to create a universe!

And, I mean, I'm sure it wasn't just one person. Game developers have whole teams dedicated to worldbuilding. I think.

Oh, no, the universe that the game creates is real! I didn't believe it at first, either, until I saw it!

Is this like one of those World of Warcraft things where it's just so immersive that everyone thinks it's real and then they get addicted and don't eat, or something?
