I am curious why there are a bunch of pictures as myself and others as ponies. Is there some sort of fan following of having ponies with pictures on their butts?

Well, that's the basics of it, although there are also griffins and dragons.

The sun and moon are also controlled, rather than in gravitational orbit.

We have youkai in Gensokyo. Demons and oni and what not.

Huh. Rabbits live on the moon where I am from, and a Crow has the power of the sun.

But yes, there are quite a few good magicians in Gensokyo. Marisa is probably the best one.

Her specialty is lasers and space magic, right? And she does it all without any natural talent for magic, either... I can respect that.

I've also heard you've dueled each other a few times, though.

You forgot her talent for copying other people's magic.

Yes, we have duel quite a bit. In fact we duel to solve many arguments we have, like what is going to be for dinner if we can't agree on something.

That sounds awfully petty, but at the same time it's amazing you're such good friends despite that. I guess it helps that the system is inherently non-lethal, though.

I can see higher-stakes duels between you being significantly more stressful, though.

That was why the Spell card system was invented. It made it so everyone could solve their differences without killing each other, which was a great thing to keep the Youkai from killing each other, or humans... mostly.

Yeah, they got pretty stressful. I think the hardest was fighting that hell raven with thh power of.... nuclear fusion? She had the power of the sun. Plus we were fighting in the furnaces of hell. It was not fun at all.

I definitely couldn't manage that as I am now. Not only does it sound unbearably hot, that sort of power is too close to Princess Celestia's to let me keep fighting.

But now you've got me wondering whether someone in your world specializes in the power of the moon, whatever that would be.

Who's Princess Celestia?

The closest people you will find are the people that lived on the moon. Reisen, a Moon Rabbit with Lunatic powers, Eirin, a Lunarian, and a incredible doctor, and Kaguya, Moon princess and immortal.

Princess Celestia is the pony in charge of moving the sun. As her title suggests, she is also responsible for the well-being of Equestria as a whole in cooperation with her sister, Princess Luna.

I see. And how did you meet them? I'm sure having Eirin around is incredibly helpful.

I see. They sound like Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi, the Goddess and God of the Sun and the Moon in japan.

I meat them when the Doctor tried to remove the moon from the sky forever in Gensokyo.

That sounds incredibly reckless and dangerous, but believe it or not I've heard of worse. Why did she want to do that?

I have to admit, I was surprised when she presented me the offer. It's been difficult, but she's taught so many wonderful things. I still need to work on my spell cards...

...but that system was your creation, wasn't it? You'd probably know more about it than anypony else.

You must be pretty good at magic to be able to learn to make your own spell cards.

I just made the system. Everyone uses spell cards in different ways based on their personality and strengths. Patchouli use's her powerful magic ability to invoke many different elements into her attacks. Aya uses her speed to make up for her lack of physical power. Yukari includes her Gaps to make the spell cards even more intricate, and even throws her familiars in as well.

Gensokyo sounds like such an interesting place. A whole world of magic and myth, protected by the Hakurei barrier, the dragon god and the boundary youkai...though I heard that boundary youkai likes bringing in people from the other side for unknown reasons. Isn't that sort of thing dangerous?

So your special talent is magic? Not just one form of magic, but all magic?

Yukari is a true Youkai, She does whatever she wants to do just because she is bored. As fer her bringing people into the barrier, that doesn't happen too much. She mainly brings in a lot of devices from the outside world to ours. People can stumble into Gensokyo by accident. I then send them back if they want to go back. if not, I lead them to the human village so they don't get eaten.

Yup. No particular form was specified, so I'm going with all fields of magic.

Oh, so it's not as bad as I thought it was. I thought it would've been much more violent if youkai prey on humans...but if they can find a way to cope, then I can't imagine it getting too bad unless one of them wants to go on a binge.

I see. And how are you faring in Spell cards then?

Oh, some youkai due pray on humans, but it is very rare. Gensokyo has such a low population that neither side wants to lose people. Some Youkai even help humans. A doctor from the moon sells medicine in the village quite often, and the school teacher is a Youkai.

Poor Reimu deserves more than that.

They're a bit tricky since they involve so much personalization, but getting the patterns down really isn't too hard. I've experimented with various danmaku-creating algorithms and I think I've found some very suitable combinations of arrangements, movement patterns and effects for somepony like me.

It's so wonderful to hear they can both come together and help each other in such ways. It sounds incredible, but I'm not too sure how Princess Luna would react to hearing people originating from the moon...
