I have to admit, I was surprised when she presented me the offer. It's been difficult, but she's taught so many wonderful things. I still need to work on my spell cards...

...but that system was your creation, wasn't it? You'd probably know more about it than anypony else.

You must be pretty good at magic to be able to learn to make your own spell cards.

I just made the system. Everyone uses spell cards in different ways based on their personality and strengths. Patchouli use's her powerful magic ability to invoke many different elements into her attacks. Aya uses her speed to make up for her lack of physical power. Yukari includes her Gaps to make the spell cards even more intricate, and even throws her familiars in as well.

It's my special talent. I have a lot of potential for it, but I still have a lot to learn.

Gensokyo sounds like such an interesting place. A whole world of magic and myth, protected by the Hakurei barrier, the dragon god and the boundary youkai...though I heard that boundary youkai likes bringing in people from the other side for unknown reasons. Isn't that sort of thing dangerous?

Yukari is a true Youkai, She does whatever she wants to do just because she is bored. As fer her bringing people into the barrier, that doesn't happen too much. She mainly brings in a lot of devices from the outside world to ours. People can stumble into Gensokyo by accident. I then send them back if they want to go back. if not, I lead them to the human village so they don't get eaten.

Yup. No particular form was specified, so I'm going with all fields of magic.

Oh, so it's not as bad as I thought it was. I thought it would've been much more violent if youkai prey on humans...but if they can find a way to cope, then I can't imagine it getting too bad unless one of them wants to go on a binge.

I see. And how are you faring in Spell cards then?

Oh, some youkai due pray on humans, but it is very rare. Gensokyo has such a low population that neither side wants to lose people. Some Youkai even help humans. A doctor from the moon sells medicine in the village quite often, and the school teacher is a Youkai.

They're a bit tricky since they involve so much personalization, but getting the patterns down really isn't too hard. I've experimented with various danmaku-creating algorithms and I think I've found some very suitable combinations of arrangements, movement patterns and effects for somepony like me.

It's so wonderful to hear they can both come together and help each other in such ways. It sounds incredible, but I'm not too sure how Princess Luna would react to hearing people originating from the moon...

Yeah, I...tend to do that sometimes. It usually happens when you specialize in both the fields of science and magic.

Rabbits, too? Is there anything else in particular I should look out for? Or should I just expect all kinds of diversity from there? I have nothing against diversity, naturally; Equestria has plenty of dragons, griffins and such.

I suppose there is nothing wrong with that. The Kappa uses her tech to assist her in her spell cards.

We have many, MANY, types of youkai, but most take the form of humans or children. We have fairies as well, bunch of tricksters and trouble makers.

It's all about playing to your strengths, right? From what I know, technology is one of Nitori's strengths. I wonder if that means I should focus on Equestrian magic for my spell cards...

I take it you haven't had the best of experiences with fairies?

Perhaps. Though it sounds like you excel at many different types of magic. So, I suppose your spell cards should incorporate several types of magic in one.

If you call being annoyed by them and shooting down thousands of them so far in my life bad, then yes. Fairies are the fodder in Gensokyo. They are mostly an annoyance, though certain fairies more so then others. Cirno, Sunnymilk, Lunachild, and Sapphire are the worst.

You're right; I should figure out which spells from different worlds synchronize best so their effects can be combined...

(Wacky brainstorming for a bit...but back to the conversation!)

I'm guessing those four particular fairies are stronger than normal fairies?

Just remember, they point of the spell card system isn't to blow up your opponent, but to out shine them. That and making it very hard to dodge.

Oh, the mischief maker types? We have a group similar to that in Ponyville; they're the Cutie Mark Crusaders and while they don't always intend to do as much damage as they do, they somehow manage.

Sure thing. It's currently my main project, so I've been giving them a lot of thought and consideration.

Oh...the Crusaders aren't that bad. The worst they managed was starting a gossip column in their school paper that dug up dirt and said terrible things about people as high up in the social caste as Princess Celestia herself.

(OOC:Yeah, that's pretty much stopping me right now as well. I think it could work though if done right.)

Mostly from Patchouli. I spoke with Keine and a few others about Gensokyo and how things work in it and I have to say, I'm very much interested in it.

The game was for Touhou characters only, but you can have as many different versions of characters as you want, even the same version. I think a Pony Dressing room would be perfect given the many, MANY different versions of all the characters, and the OC's and Ponified characters.))

How much real life experience can you get from just reading books? Look at Marisa. All her Spell cards came from watching and fighting against other spell cards.

(Twilight's somewhat gotten used to flying by now. She pulled it off slightly in canon a few times, but since she was already greatly expanding her magical capabilities, might as well learn the quintessential Touhou skill, right?
