Wish I knew how 't read. Words'n all that, books.

Write wif a nice feather quill. [ Ragetti hopes someone out there understands... Pintel says it's a waste of time. ]

Never been all by meself before... I wonder what Pintel's doing. [ He idly fidgets with the wooden eye in his skinny hands. ]

Is this purgatory or sumfink?

The way I see it, I've got two choices. One, I go along with whatever scheme you cook up and pretend to be chummy with a bunch of people I don't know - or two, I shut me mouth and pretend our paths never crossed.

[His lips twist unhappily and he leans back.]

But, really, where's the fun in ignoring the possibility of other worlds? As long as they've got open water and you don't separate me from my ship, how can I complain?

Unless there's no rum. Or wenches. A man can't go long without them.

Kudos on that name, darling. Unspeakably clever. Undoubtedly clever. Indubitably and other such adverbs otherwise meaning well-done. But if I could have a moment... nay, just one... now, now, don't be shy, come a bit closer... there. Listening? Good.

GIMME BACK MY SHIP!

Alright, excellent. Glad we're on the same page and all that. I'll just sit here and wait patiently for you to acquiesce to my demands. Shouldn't be too long, my skills in the arena of bargaining are second to none. You'll cave any second now.

Yeeeeeeep.

Any second now.

I never took you for a liar, Madam. The sea incites a strong reaction in all; whether that be fear, revulsion or excitement depends on the person.

I would not call myself a pirate, per se, but I can understand why they dedicate themselves to their trades. After all there is very little place for women in the Navy.

(Sexism, bah.)

I have had my adventure and now it is time to be married. (Oh Elizabeth. If only things were that simple.) Why are you giving me that expression?
seaswann: (✥ disbelief)

What will this gain either of us? More complications? More danger? I've seen my fill of undead pirates and hidden treasure. I've earned the right to go home.

(She looks downright offended that her Mun doesn't agree.)

On Easter Sunday.

At eleven AM.

For shame, mun, and you call me a drunk. Tsk tsk.

[IT'S YOUR FAULT]

Nonsense and lies, nobody can make you do anything, munny. Didn't your father tell you that? Oh now what is he going to think of you? Don't even try, you'll never get the rum scent out before they get home.

May as well give it up now, milady. Or at least I presume you are a lady.
missing1ship: (Default)
[personal profile] missing1ship
No. I am very cross with you, mundane. You dropped me in a bin for months to go off and play giant metal man shenanigans with everyone else. Completely forgot about me. Then you go and lark about with some unkillable crime against humanity because he's 'easier to write'.

At least I give your brain a decent bit of exercise.

I'll not be talking to you until you learn how to treat a man with needs.

If that idiot starts singing that damnable song at any point, it be you I'm coming for after I gut him throat to groin.

And after you? Miss Swann, for teaching it to him in the first place.

You have given me no charges. No reason at all for my imprisonment.

If I'm of no value to you, then release me. [Aaand that would be a sword. Pointed at no one in particular, but brandished and ready.] Release me now.

[Yeah, she mad]

So if I might be... perfectly clear between us right now.

If I go to the place with all the wild animals with special exploding powers that are three times bigger than me and can possibly eat me... I will be unarmed, provided with a monkey and set loose in the forest. With no rum.

Or.

Or I can go where there is rum and no gigantic wild animals with magic exploding powers, but where I will most certainly be eaten by cannibals if I fall asleep in the wrong place at night.

Oh yes and the children will eat me too, of course, almost forgot that detail.

I hereby take back saying I love you. I retract those words and you will not be hearing them again for the rest of your miserable life.

I demand to know why you've brought me here. Again.

[Yes, early-in-canon Elizabeth is not happy with her mun for bringing her here...]

I mean it's bad enough that I was taken from my home in the middle of the night by pirates but now you bring me here? I mean, what do you plan to do with me? ...Yes, you're right it's slightly better than being stuck on board a pirate ship with...undead pirates or whatever they are but I'd still rather be at home.

Parlay! I invoke the right of parlay!

[...I'm not a pirate Elizabeth, that's not going to work.]

As much as I appreciate your... enthusiasm, I find I can't help but try and speak words of caution. Do you recall the promise you made not only to yourself, but all of us? Your compatriots and your charges alike. I thought the plan was to take it slow, not to hurry along after those you want to cast your die with.

Not that you'll listen. Not really. [A half-grin, then, more cryptically than it seems:] But a man does what he can.

[... a long, awkward pause. Then:] A request, though? Please, stop the ... [Will shakes his head.] No, never mind. [Because actually putting it to words would bring more trouble than he feels like dealing with. And it's not like the mundane doesn't know what he was about to ask. :I]

Ye act as though I can't see just what you lot are up to.

I see. And let it be said here and now that while I agree that aye, Jack certainly does need a good scrubbing, preferably with one of those stiff-bristled brooms I found in a closet, let it also be known I'll nary be the one prompting that little adventure. Let one of those dragon women that attacked me with that so-called 'make over' do the deed. He ought enjoy that, until he sees what they're about.

And of course, that's just the tip of the iceberg there, ain't it, lass. I'll not get started on the body-swapping ye thought were so funny, or the rest of that nonsense.

Honestly speaking, with you it be two steps forward, twenty steps back and all the way to the start, for that matter. I'd list off all the offenses against me person here in recent memory, but neither of us nary have the time, nor do I have the inclination, as you very well know the lot of claptrap I mean.

Enough of it. Find something else to occupy your time with. After all, I thought there were much talk and much dilly-dallying over the idea of 'redoing me icons', as ye put it. And I've got a grand total of five new ones.

I see you're just absolutely on top of it, then.

Have I told you that I like you? Because I do. Really, truly. Good friends, you and I. Thick as thieves, mun.

Dear mun. Beloved mun.

I'd say more but I appear to be swimming in an ocean of naked breasts and women so I will be sure to tell you more sweet nothings as soon as I'm done 'sailing'.

By which I mean: tread carefully.

You can't buy my forgiveness, and if you could, you wouldn't be able to afford it. My forgiveness is a very expensive affair, with feathered hats, long gloves and fancy little cheeses on fancy little sticks. And a ship! My ship! That's an important detail; you can't skip out on the ship. She's the centrepiece - you might even say that she's the piece de resistance. We could dress her up with new sails, ones that don't have blood stains, and perhaps we could give her a new lick of paint to go with her bows.

[ pause. ]

But we won't. Because you can't afford my forgiveness.
