[Laughing, she brings both hands up to pull the hat up a bit, since she's small so his hat just falls right down over her eyes. She tips it back enough so she can peer up at him.]

You're all unique.

[She can say that with confidence.]

So...figure now's a good time for you to jump into that whole anywhere and everywhere speech. There's places to see, people to meet, you said so yourself, didn't you?

[Hi, meet Clara. A tiny energetic thing who has problems standing still for long.]

[cluttered]

Oh, yes. You'd be one of those people, as for the places... Everywhere sounds about right. Could always start with a direction.

[bossily]

We could always go that way.

[Such a casual suggestion, said as she points off to the left.]

Unless there's something awesome over that way. [She turns to face the right, taking his hat off her head. It's clutched close to her chest for a few moments, incredibly fondly, and then she's tossing the hat back in his direction and heading off that way, leaving him to follow along after her.]

[cluttered]

[ He catches it, and puts it on with a wide grin as he takes off after her. ]

I actually have no idea.

[ And of course he's bursting with excitement because of it. ]

[bossily]

That makes two of us, then.

[She calls out over her shoulder, slowing down so he can catch up enough for her to reach back and grab hold of his hand. She's nice and lets him lead the way from there on out, though.]

Best sort of adventure, once you get past the fact we've no idea what's waiting for us.

[cluttered]

[ He's more than happy to do so. ]

Get past it? Nonsense! That only makes it all the better.

[bossily]

Easy for you to say, since you've got a screwdriver to help keep you safe.

[Huff huff. Keeping up with him is going to be a task.]

[cluttered]

Exactly. Me, the man with the screwdriver. And a decent bit of wit, I imagine.

[bossily]

[She stops jogging along after him, digging in her heels to anchor them both down. Too bad she's tiny enough to just be drug right along.]

Think we'll stick with the screwdriver. Save the wit for companions that don't have any for their own.

[cluttered]

[ Which is exactly what's happening. He doesn't seem to notice at all, at first. ]

I meant you, silly girl, so you can skip the hissy fit.

[ Doctor that's not how you pacify someone. ]

[bossily]

It's Clara, and this isn't a fit, it's a -

[Omg would he stop dragging her. She jogs ahead so she's the one leading and attempting to drag him.]

Wait.

[She slows down.]

You just complimented me instead of taking a chance to inflate your own ego. Doctor, I'm proud.

[cluttered]

[ If you don't want to be dragged don't dig your heels in or slow down. ]

My wit is a given, it hardly needs pointing out.

[bossily]

[That earns an eyeroll. And you know what, Doctor, you just don't drag people. Regardless of circumstances. It's just not polite.]

Right, and neither does mine. [He gets a light hit to the arm for insinuating that she does.]

I've been able to keep up with you just fine, haven't I?

[cluttered]

[ Here, have a look at his cup of care.

It's empty.

All that hit gets as a response is a quiet chuckle. ]

If it helps you sleep at night.

[bossily]

[Okay, now she's offended. And to show she is, she makes a loud noise of offense in the back of her throat, balling her hand up into a fist so she can actually punch his arm. She hopes he trips over his scarf and faceplants.]

Oh, just get us to the TARDIS, already. We'll work on your egomania later.

[cluttered]

[ Oh, look, he's reacting! So much that he jumps to the side and gives her the most offended look in return that he can muster as he rubs his arm. She's free! ]

Work on-- Is something the matter?

[ Now he's just being thick. ]

[bossily]

[She starts out looking so proud to pull that level of offense out of him in return, but when he speaks, she just looks dumbfounded.]

No, Doctor. Nothing's the matter.

[It's really remarkable. Really, really incredible just how thick one alien can be.]

Nothing you'd get, anyway. Best not to worry about it. Least not until after I spend a bit more time with you.

[Yeah, she's just invited herself along with him for a while. She's sure the Doctor she knows will understand.]

[cluttered]

[ Pause.

Just a moment, his mind is working. ]

I wasn't being serious, you know. I only take the best.

[bossily]

[Her face slowly softens at that, and even slower than that, a smile tugs up at one side of her mouth.]

And there's the reason I said yes to traveling with you. Knew it'd show itself eventually.

[In a quick series of motions, she rushes forward, rises up on her tiptoes, uses his scarf to pull herself up and in closer, places a kiss to his cheek, then prances off up ahead.]

[cluttered]

[ His arms go flailing because wow don't pull, and then he stares after her with a bewildered expression, hands slowly moving to touch his cheek.

Oh.

Slowly, he follows her, stumbling slightly the first few steps. ]




That's the reason?

Flattery gets you everywhere, Doctor.

[She laughs, a bounce to her step as she spins around to walk backward and face him while speaking.]

That, and I meant the part of you that's actually sincere. It makes the ego and all the other weird things worth it, in the end.

[cluttered]

All the brilliant things, you mean.

[ Oh look, there it is again. ]

[bossily]

[She doesn't bother outwardly sighing. She keeps it allllll inside.]

Brilliant, weird...two sides of the same coin, in your case.

[Pause.]

Anyway! I've been thinking about heading back to the 80s sometime. I was born in them, the later part, anyway. So I'm a bit partial.

[It will be hours later when Clara realizes she should've specified 1980's Earth.]

You know, I actually haven't been there much. More... 60s and 70s, and then the 21st century. Or way into the future or past.

[bossily]

Well, now's a perfect time to start, don't you think?

[Come on, come on! She darts forward to take hold of his hand again, and this time she's the one to try dragging him.]
