I really didn't intend to do this yet but he gets to me
Well, it figures you couldn't resist me! I'm really not surprised, my dear. I am so incredibly charming, after all, and you've seen more than enough, don't you worry.
You're welcome.
Now let's go have a look around! Can't sit around here all day. Unless sitting means watching more of me, I could put up with that. Not yet, you say? All right-y then, I will see you later. Or you could come along, if you'll make less of a fuss that way. Stop wasting time! We've got people to meet, I hear!
[ That's a call for all of you friends who are bound to be lurking out there to come forward, for the record. ]

You've got to be over a thousand. A few hundred years past that, maybe.
[It'll be a while, Doctor, sorry.]
It's so weird, thinking of things like that. I'm only almost twenty-five. Used to be, the year 2013 was it for me. I was born, I lived, and 2013 was as far as I could go. Now I can go as far forward as the end of the Earth, and all the way back to watch it begin. All the way back to meet you here, too.
[That puts a smile on her face. She's grateful for the opportunity.]

[ He smacks the console with his scarf in frustration. Not responding to the rest because, yes, he knows his life is incredible. No applauds needed (but greatly appreciated all the same). ]
no subject
[And wow, there's a tantrum like she's used to her Doctor having here and there. It's enough to make that smile of hers grow, and she nudges him with her hip.]
Try not to be so glum over it, though. I'm here now, aren't I? And we can go and see all that we'd like, take as long as we like, and only a few minutes will have passed back where I'm supposed to be.
[There's a pause, and she glances up at him with a skeptical look on her face.]
Shouldn't you be the one giving that speech, Doctor?
no subject
[ That's definitely teasing. ]
no subject
[She rises up on her tiptoes, leans forward, and pulls a smug look. One that quickly melts into something more curious.]
What do you think? A bit iffy on the wording, but I've got to get points for the delivery.
no subject
Nothing wrong with the wording. It was good. At least I've taught you well.
no subject
Don't give older you too much credit, I'm just a quick learner. And far too observant for your own good.
no subject
[ And he needs to return to the console, because it's time to land. ]
no subject
[Her eyes roll so hard she thinks she makes herself dizzy, but pays it no attention as she slips to stand in front of him and allows her hand to hover over a button she thinks might have something to do with the landing...process or whatever it's called. She doesn't press it though, but waits for him to give consent.
See? She's being respectful of your things, Doctor. Appreciate it.]
no subject
Go on.
no subject
Ready?
[She waits until the telltale shakes and twitches of the TARDIS are over before spinning out from in front of him, traipsing her way down to the front doors backwards. She motions for him to follow with a crook of of her finger.]
no subject
In this TARDIS, the doors need to be opened and closed from the console, so he reaches for that button before he follows her.
They've landed in a small lab. Really small, with a few shelves and a desk, no windows since it's in the basement. Still his, and he wonders idly how long it's been since he's been here now. Not that important, but all the same. ]
UNIT HQ. Been there yet?
[ He really does hope that he's not still technically working for them in a few hundred years. ]
no subject
When I travel with you, UNIT's not on the radar. Least not that I know of, and I know more than you'd think.
[It's said in a whisper, although she's not all that sure why. So she takes pause, frowns, and tries speaking again in a normal volume.]
Why do you know about yetis in UNIT HQ?
no subject
[ He throws his hands into the air. Not working for them anymore, thank goodness. Although-- Well. She wouldn't know them. And. Wait, why the whispering-- Oh.
When he turns back to her, it's with a grin. ]
I'm UNIT's scientific adviser. I help them, they don't pay me, but I get their equipment and name at my disposal. Not a bad arrangement, but I wouldn't want to be stuck here forever. This is my room.
Come on!
[ He adjusts his hat, spins on his heel and jogs out into the hallway. ]
no subject
[She's a little baffled as to why any organization would do a thing like that, but tries not to question it too much as she follows along after him at a quick skip. Laughing, she edges in closer and closer, close enough to hop up and grab that hat right off of his head. Yep, she saw him adjust it, it's time for him to have it removed.
Smirking a bit, she places it on her own head.]
You look better without it.
[She explains in a tease before he can even ask, and prances her way right past him to get a look around.]
no subject
It's perfectly safe! They'd all be dead if it weren't for me!
[ And that is the complete truth. He's saved their arses a lot. Although that includes all of Earth so, really, they should be more thankful. But hey! Running off with his hat like that--
He pouts. ]
It's a great hat.
[ There's nothing interesting to see yet; just an empty corridor with bland doors to other offices. But they soon reach a staircase, and he turns to hop up it.
Walking up stairs is for losers and boring people. ]
no subject
[Then again, she's also relatively sure she'll probably die someday because of him. So her hands go up to grip hold of the top of the hat, and she watches him hop up the stairs with an incredibly amused grin on her face. It's almost amazing, how much this version of the Doctor was like hers, yet so very different at the same time.
She waits for him to get up a few steps before following along after him, attempting to take the steps in jumps, two or three at a time so she can beat him to the top.]
no subject
[ He stops on a step to send a grin over his shoulder at her, and stuffs his hands in his pockets before he continues. Except then she copies him and tries to get ahead of him, which just isn't allowed.
Thus he takes his hands out again to be able to put more power behind it, and he's trying to use his long legs to his advantage.
He reaches the platform where the stair turns and jumps across that one. ]
no subject
[She snorts, following along after him with a series of hops. Her legs are in no way able to keep up with his incredibly long ones, so she doesn't try to jump across the larger turn in the stairs. Instead, she jogs up ahead.]
No fair. Your legs are longer. I'm faster, though.
[Watch as she attempts to half-run, half-bunny hop her way on up to the top.]
no subject
[ He'll adjust his own style, then.
And as he reaches the top, one foot lands on his scarf and straightening up doesn't go very well. It tightens around his neck and yanks at him, and his arms go flailing as he skips another step forward to keep from actually falling.
Honestly, it's a miracle it didn't happen until now. ]
no subject
The scarf. Is that a thing that you wear all the time? It's your version of a bow tie, isn't it?
[There's a pause, and now she skips up along after him, careful to stick right at his side now.]
Forget I asked, I know it has to be. You and things around your neck. It's gonna cause a regeneration one of these days, just you wait.
no subject
[ Really she doesn't need to guard him. :c
They've reached another dull hallway, and he turns to walk down it, unwrapping the scarf from around his neck to just leave it hanging because now he's warm. And he takes the chance to wave it at her for good measure. ]
I'll have you know it's very useful.
no subject
Useful for what, exactly?
[She hops up over the last step, and in a series of quick footsteps catches up to walk alongside him.]
You don't even need to keep warm, not in here.
no subject
[ Rly, Clara, isn't that obvious? ]
no subject
[Chuckling, she reaches up to give the scarf a few little tugs.]
Seems sturdy enough, but hope you realize you're so lassoing something the first chance we get.
[There's a pause, and she looks as if she's had an idea.]
Think we could go to some sort of...oh, I dunno...cowboy thing after this? Never seen anything like that before.
[Apparently, he's stuck with her for a while.]
