[There's a certain fondness in his tone that indicates that he isn't quite teasing the vampire. He's a little concerned, in fact, but he isn't about to let worries grow and get the better of him. He doesn't expect Alucard would be exactly appreciative of such sentiments, even if Walter did show them.]

What shall we do about it?

[ That's the rub isn't it? There's nothing he can do about it. Not until his mundane decides to give up this ridiculousness. The vampire, normally so immune to everything, heaves a long sigh. ]

There's nothing to be done about it. In fact she's looking for a you to bring in.

[The sigh stirs the worry within him against his will. He has to resist the urge to reach up, to bring the dimension of touch into play to offer some measure of reassurance.

He offers a cigarette instead.]

A me to bring in? To what, keep you out of trouble? Or cause some with you?

[Because in all honesty, a violent virgin like Walter would probably rack up at least a small death toll. Even without his enhanced prowess he's still a damn good knife-handler, and he be more than happy to assist his partner in cutting down a few vermin.]

[ His eyes drift from Walter to the offered cigarette with an arch of his brow and finally a shrug. Why not? He plucks it free and looks at it for a moment. ]

[ His lips twitch at the idea. Would that be a sight?]

At least these 'PSL's' are not so dull.

[He's quick to offer a light, the zippo's flame creating a pleasant halo of warmth against his hand.]

[If only the sex wasn't so... mandatory, he could have been of more help.]

[ The curl of smoke in his lungs is something he just barely registers at all. Still it's something and with the faint light and heat from the lighter it's almost calming in its familiarity. ]

[ A dry chuckle and another drag. Maybe he should take up smoking. ]

[The uneasiness welling inside of Walter has him craving for his own cigarette. It's a habit of his to smoke when the adrenaline starts running out of control or when he's frustrated, and at the moment the latter is plaguing him quite a bit.]

If it were within my power I'd come rescue you. Butcher half the city and just get the hell out of that...hellhole.

[ That does make him smile until it curls into a grin and a low chuckle. That he would need to be rescued and that Walter would be the one doing the rescuing. The image it presents is infinitely amusing. ]

Rescue me? I'm flattered.

[ He might even be if the lack of his normal sarcasm is anything to go by. ]

I'd prefer the entire city at this point.

[ Let them all bleed and drown in it while he watches. ]

You shouldn't worry, Angel. There is nothing that city can do to me except bore me to tears. I'm insulted you think otherwise.

[ Is he goading the youth a little? Yes. Walter's concern is genuine after all, human, and Alucard is everything but. ]

[If there's one thing that's well-established between them, it's Alucard's ability to manipulate his reactions. He bristles at the jab, even as the concern continues to weigh on his mind.]

Deal with it. Reap the consequences of your sulking.

[And the vampire just gets one long look. Is he really going to have to have this conversation with someone who's over 500 years old? Really? You'd think it would be happening with the roles in reverse given their ages.]

[ Yes you are, Walter, because at over 500 years old, he's earned a good sulk. ]

[ There's a tilt to his mouth that bodes ill indeed. Like he's about to switch targets from his mun to Walter. No good can come of this given where the vampire currently lives. ]

[Oh, he's not saying that the vampire hasn't rightly earned it. Walter would definitely be sulking himself if he were stuck in such an outright insulting situation.

It doesn't change the fact that the vampire is sulking, however.]

If you weren't sulking, you wouldn't have said there was nothing to be done about it. So unless you've changed your mind...

[It's a bait-- a challenge for the vampire to do something. He doesn't know where it will lead, but whereever it does, it's sure to be better than watching his partner be morose and listless.]

[He vaguely remembers his writer reading something about power restoration when poking around. Something about a catch.]

You have to fuck the required number of individuals to gain status and regain your powers.

[ And he says it without batting an eyelash. Now all that's left is to see if Walter explodes or not. ]

[For the moment, Walter is surprisingly calm. He's still calm for two reasons: 1, he doesn't have to do it, and 2, he doesn't have to clean it up.

What the vampire does get in return for his obscene candor is a positively baleful stare.]
