That man is not me. He will come to acknowledge that in time. If he isn't me, then what is he? He may have my body, but that is not me.

I have no pity for that thing, and I never will. You are showing these people a glimpse of what he never was.

[This just in, former shooting star pilot watching the general with an odd expression. Confusion and regret mixed with... sorrow? Yep, that's pretty solid state of contrition right there.]

[Oh he sees you little man. He smiles, weakly. Pitchiner knows about you. Don't give him that look Sandy. Smiles, all around! Plus it's refreshing to see someone else besides his headmate, Pitch.]

[Sorry, man, it's hard to smile while you're wracking your brain trying to figure out what to do about all this.

Sandy gestures loosely at Kozmotis with a silent little sigh. Nothing about what's happened or what's going to happen is okay.]</>

[He sighs as well and shakes his head, looking down at him.]

When he finds out about all this... what will you do? Surely he won't take all this very well.

[The little man's shoulders slump and he looks away for a moment. No, Pitch won't take the news well at all. You don't need to know him as well as Sandy does to know that, but...

Dreamsand drifts to life overhead, taking the form of a thick book with a rather battered looking cover. It opens slowly, pages flipping by almost reluctantly. The end of the book comes all too soon, and it closes again to reveal a back cover with Pitch's silhouette embossed on it.

Sandy will tell Pitch what he wants to know. He will tell him the story of Kozmotis Pitchiner, of how he fell from the stars and became the Nightmare King, and what happens after that? Well, that's for Pitch to decide.]

[Pitchiner nods as he watches the display and his own shoulders slump.]

You are right. It is up to him in the end, what he decides to do with his life.

Let's just hope he chooses the correct path for himself, and others.

[Sandy returns the nod, lift one hand and crossing his first two fingers while laying his free hand over his heart.

He hopes so. He's hoping with everything he's got, and Sandy will do his best to help. Not that he's sure how of if Pitch will let him, but he'll try.

It'll be up to you, you know. Keeping him in line.

[He smiles weakly. He knows how temperamental his counterpart can be. Even he can't get through to him at times.]

If anything, you may be the only one he can listen to.

[The little man's smiling, but his uncertainty shows through clearly. Keeping Pitch "in line" isn't something he really wants to have to do. He will if worse comes to worse, of course. He's done it before and he'll certainly do it again if the residents of Nautilus are in danger, but as the only person in Nautilus with any connections to the Golden Age...

He'd rather support Pitch through what would be a difficult change than simply contain him.]
