...They almost made me into a complete psycho! I mean come on, it's common knowledge Taffyta is a preppy-know-it-all but- you really think I'd wanna watch her die in the street?! They actually made me SAY that!! I heard- I saw- it come outta my own mouth!!!

And you saw, Ralph was in on it too! We were total nutcases! ..I mean Ralph I can kinda see but me?? I'm adorable, I'm not a murderer!

I was just kiddin' about executin' the racers, seriously!

Yeah, well, early development is weird. Obviously they thought it was nuts, too, or they wouldn't have changed it and you wouldn't be freaking out about it.

But yeah, seriously, that's... kinda messed up for Disney.

Kinda? It's more messed up than a tootsie-roll without its center! Why would they even put somethin' like that into development, even if they didn't use it?

Did they want me to terrify kids n'stead of bein' their role-model?

Hey, if you don't think they enjoy terrifying kids, somebody ought to introduce you to Malificent one of these days.

...I get that Disney has done some pretty messed up stuff in the past, but this is pretty....extreme.

Honestly, yeah. I mean, anyone your age getting to a point where they can say something like that and mean it...

Yeah, probably. I mean, the stuff in my series is bad enough, and we've just got standard Dumb Teenage Heroes. We don't have kids your age dealing with that stuff.

Well, except Alice, but she's a Princess of Heart so she's probably fine.

...Hey, I'm a Princess too. But ya don't have t'be a Princess to be able to handle somethin' dangerous or bad.

Well, of course not. Otherwise everyone in your game would be a princess, and that would just get confusing. Especially if there was a crash and you all got your crowns mixed up.

...Yeah. An' I'm the only one in my game cut out to be a Princess, honestly.

Usually how it works, yeah. My game's got at least eight, but that's just because our plot's really convoluted. Sometimes I wish I was in a rhythm game or something, life'd be a lot simpler.

A rhythm game huh? ...Doesn't sound too excitin' if ya ask me.

Maybe not, but it'd make my head hurt less. It's a good thing I don't have to do much in it, but I think I'm allergic to foreshadowing.

Foreshadowing? ...Yeah a game with all that sounds too complicated. You don't gotta have such an in-depth plot to have a good game.

...Unless it's a REALLY good one.

Well, it's popular. Which I guess is the main way that counts. I don't know, I don't get to talk to anybody from arcade games much, maybe it's different for you guys.

Weeell...yeah, it kinda is. Arcade games are never really too indepth- ...gotta be simple since you pay to play, yaknow.

Yeah, makes sense. I mean, I'm from an RPG, so it goes on for ages. Maybe as much as forty hours, if you're just playing casually.

Or maybe my mun just doesn't know how long it takes.

Forty hours!? Holy smokes, ya don't get tired bein' on the clock for so long?

I can barely work an eight hour shift some days, and I'm not always on the roster!

Thankfully I'm not a main character. I get maybe half an hour of screen time in a game, unless the player has serious trouble with me. I'm just a mid-boss. And it's not like they play it all in one sitting, anyway. I still don't know how Sora handles it, and we've been out for ages now.

... Okay, probably not ages by arcade standards. Uh, 'bout seven years, I think. Still not bad for a PS2 game.

...Yeah, my mun's already makin' a face. She's had her share of playin' yer game- the first time she ever played it she got caught up on you for a long time.

So I guess that means yer doin' yer job right.

Eh, I'm not that hard, I've just got timed segments. But tell her thanks.

Anyway, I've always wondered what bein' in a platformer would be like. ...Or an actual uuh- story-driven console game. ..Seems pretty interestin.

Being in a platformer's pretty fun. You can get some pretty weird environments going - a lot of it's about timing, especially when there are enemies around. Occasionally when I have time to goof off I'll go mess around somewhere the player isn't, though I have to watch out for when they're backtracking sometimes.

[And it's not obvious at all that the mun is reading Thursday Next right now, no.]

You said you were a princess, right? I guess if your game had a story you'd probably be more involved in it than I am in mine anyway. You don't seem like the damsel type.

Not in th'slightest, ya got that right. ...Makes me wonder if my game wasn't 'sposed to be a platformer'a some kind at one point...or at least something longer, with more levels.

Not just an arcade game.

Eh, who knows, guess there might be a home version. But 'just an arcade game' isn't really a great way to think about it, is it? I mean, you get to meet a lot more people, see a lot more players too. You've got that 'Game Central Station' thing going, you get to meet everybody in the arcade if you want to.
