Sir Mundane, I feel I must protest. Do not be mistaken, my appetite for adventure is as large as ever, but Volstagg the Mighty cannot survive on such undertakings of glory alone. I know what must be done to survive in some of these 'games', and a meal of rat is not a meal at all.

Ah come now, do not look so grim! Why, perhaps with the correct application of spices, a nice, fat rat may be as tasty as any robust pheasant or tender bison.

And who better to accept such a challenge, who better to tackle such a great testing, than the master gourmet himself? Why, with your talent and knack for all things foodish I daresay you, sir, could make a finer and more delicious feast of a rat than any other in the nine realms!

You speak true, young Loki. The Lion of Asgard could make a meal as fine as any out of even the most inferior of meats.

There is still the matter of principal, however. After all, would you choose a stick of salted rat over a deer omelet?

Of course not! But I would choose challenge over idleness at every turn! Why, imagine how impressive you would look, were you to present a most succulent and delicious meal under such dire circumstances. I am sure that it would be the tastiest rat that I have ever eaten!
