Well if you were in my universe you certainly would of heard of me. The Brat has you gather around the gates like little canon fodder whenever I come home.

It isn't pride that makes me say that. It's the truth. Whenever I make myself known you muster what forces you can in front of the gate.

[ There's a slight smirk that comes to his lips. Lucifer has ended the lives of beings like this. Those who claimed they were gods before He came to be. The one and only thing they still agreed on. There was no such thing and those who made a claim as such would surely fall. Michael had very little patience for false gods (Michael had very little patience for anything).]

I have heard claims like yours many times before. There is no gate, heathen. Heaven, Hell - these fell years ago. There is what remains of Earth now and that is all.

You weren't paying attention earlier were you? I already mentioned we come from different realities. Different universes entirely. Who knows? Maybe your god is really the only one around in your reality rather than systematically having you Angels try to kill us off. You can understand how behavior like that gave him that lovely nickname.

In my universe Heaven is still very much around, just your creator's little slice of the realm we're all born in.

He just stares, because presume that there are different realities. Let's just hypothetically say this. Then why would a being decide to - after acknowledging seperate realties - further claim that they should rally their host at the gate should said being come knocking after being aware that they both hailed from different realities. ]

There are others who claim to be gods like you. [ If you MUST insist that such a thing exists, seperate worlds or realities. Angels were never really known for their acceptence of anything that their Father did not tell them now were they? ] It does not make it so.

Certainly. The Pharaohs claimed to be gods of a sort. Hardly made it true.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you know for a fact your god truly did exist before time and before their first group of followers. Then I'm not a god in that sense.

Gods in my world are created by faith and maintained by it. Most need believers to continue on existing. So of course they encouraged worship and spreading of their religions. That whole "You shall have no other gods before me" line was a move to simultaneously gain more believers and give those believers incentive to kill anyone who wouldn't convert.

[ Ruffling Michael's feathers seemed to be a passtime of many and this was a common game well before the war that devoured both Heaven and Hell. Suppose some things never change. It was possibly because unless he was speaking with sarcasm he was incredibly oblivious to subtext and sarcasm. Too often taking everything very literal and ever the serious type. ]

I do not know how or why false gods exist- I cannot speak to your world as you call it. I know that they are false. It is all I need to know. [ It may be becoming more clear as to why people never wanted to deal with Michael period let alone deal with him on the battlefield. ]

I can't speak for your world either. The "rules" are different in each. I ran into a version of Lucifer that claimed God was dead. Usually I take anything he has to say with a grain of salt, but judging by the fact he wasn't trying to look remotely human or angelic I'm inclined to believe that's true for his world. Certainly not an easy task to accomplish.

I adapt to new information. I seek the truth when the answer is important to me. However I'm guessing you struck down these "false" gods without ever even wondering about their origins.

Truth is the fact or reality of a matter. What has been observed to be fact.

It's an agreed upon definition these days. I'm not sure who came up with the word first as we know it today, but humans often seem to have a distinct thirst for knowledge so I wouldn't put it past them.

Much of mankind is poisoned by ignorance and heresy. They thirst for knowledge which sooths their perspecive and eases their lives, not truth. The only thing that truth is, is what my Father says it is. As for anything else.

Well it's an abstract concept. The idea of "truth" would of always existed no matter what name you put to it.

Perhaps I had shown you some measure of intellectual respect. After all you must know that it is within your creator's power to lie or withhold information. To deny that would be to deny his omnipotence. If there's something he can't do then he is not all powerful.

Then of course there is the reason why he would lie to you about some things. I admit I haven't flipped through that bore of a book in some time, but didn't he say he was a jealous god? That means he has something to be jealous of. Would more of your kind defect if they knew there were other beings which they could align themselves with?

[ There is just a little bit of a surly grin on his lips again. Michael is silent for some time before he begins speaking. Lucifer would say such things. That if their father was only one side of the coin he wouldn't be the father of all things; he would complain about the unfairness and whine about their Father's flaw.

But here's the short of it. It doesn't matter and Michael does not care. He does not care that their Father is flawed. He is their Father and Michael always obeys. ]

And I will strike them down. [ It comes off his lips so easily but it is never an easy task. ]

Maybe there are other... 'gods' that came before or after. Maybe there are greater powers. Maybe my Father lies and cheats and sins. My place is where I will always be regardless of this.

Continue to tell me what is the error in my Father's way. They may or may not have merit, I cannot say. I can say that I do not care.

[Well that managed to get a surprised look out of him. After what Michael had said earlier he hadn't expected him to be so self-aware on this topic. He eventually settled into a displeased look.]

At least you are honest with yourself. I have to wonder why you would stay with someone who would lie to you so thoroughly? Is it just religious zeal or did your father just design the perfect lap dog?

I suppose it would make sense that the most loyal would be one who only has loyalty to his father and not his brothers or even himself. After all you don't care if you are being lied to or your loyalty abused. What should you care what happens to your brothers? Oh but if they break from the status quo they will get the business end of your giant flaming sword.

[ The anger that flairs up inside of him as this thing continues to speak is overwhelming. Likely palpable, even, for such a being. Heavy and hot and consuming. He tries, he tries so hard, but the very moment Baxter talks about his loyalty to his brothers a large set of thick black wings unfurl.

They are massive, and sharp, and dripping in blood. What a deep sense of wrath accompanies their unfurl. So much anguish and pure hate. It's difficult to know how such a rattling depth of this emotion took hold of the golden boy, the prince, the righteous right hand. But it was there. It was very present.

And the voice echoes enough to move mountains.]

[Oh now that gets a surprised look followed by a mouthless smile. Baxter wasn't afraid just amused.]

Rather than getting angry at me maybe you should see if I'm wrong. After all if your brothers aren't being abused and lied to then you have the peace of mind knowing that is the fact of it. If not you can make your decision of what to do from there.
