[Though some small part of her is thinking about the question. Sure, she would love to perform at The Grand Galloping Gala. It would definitely make her all the more famous and closer to her goal of fame forever. Unforgettable fame, even well after she's dead.
Trixie's had no former rival, or rival to begin with, but if she hypothetically did, she know it would be all the more special to visit the ill. Plus it's a very good thing to repair broken bridges. But the problem is... if she visits the ill friend, her popularity would go down due to a no-show. If she does the show, those people could possibly hate her forever despite her charisma, and thus lose potential fans. For the end result of this decision, there is no clear fin-win or lose-lose. That's what would make this decision so hard.
...So it's probably a good thing there's good in her buried deep, deep down enough to favor visiting the ill girl.]

SO? YOU TELL ME YOU'LL VISIT YOUR ILL FRIEND? LET'S SEE WHAT MY SCALES OF TRUTH HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT!
[They tip from side to side like someone waving their arms, it appears random until the one with the heart shaped glass begins to tip lower and lower and...it drops.]
YOU ABANDON YOUR SICK FRIEND FOR FAME AND GLORY! SHE AND HER FIVE OTHER FRIENDS FEEL BETRAYED BY YOUR ACTIONS! ALTHOUGH YOU SOON BECOME FAMOUS YOU ARE NO LONGER WELCOME TO HER HOME TOWN! YOU LIVE WITH THAT GUILT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! IT WAS YOUR CHOICE, YOU HAVE TO LIVE IT!

The Great and Powerful Trixie demands an answer! Just what exactly are you talking about and why you wish to ignore those that address you! Do you not understand how to hold a conversation? 'Tis a huge folly to unanswer anypony!

[She thinks she didn't, but her heart did. It's what happens when being logical.]

...Trixie cannot hope to point out a flaw in your hypothetical situation. She could have very well been mislead in her decision, and circumstances may very well push her to believe it is the work of competition, other showmares, attempting to sabotage her performance! You had never even clarified that the proof of illness was definite!
[Again, Trixie's talking with logic.]
