I thought by now you might know better than to use the term 'villain', at least. Nothing is done for evil's sake. Perhaps this antagonist of yours has a very important greater good -- perhaps he or she has seen only horrors beyond the veil. Perhaps all a soul is is energy -- ah, look, and I've come full circle, haven't I. How delightfully clever.
