[That's okay, Ruby. Probably everyone wants to facepalm. Or possibly smack him. Or break Cardin's legs. (Dear lord, if Nora found out....)]

That doesn't change the fact that I lied, Ruby. You and everyone on your team and Team JNPR all earned your places in the school. I didn't do anything to let me earn my place in Beacon, let alone be the one chosen to lead a team.

Besides, what good's a leader if he can't stick up for himself anyway?

Oh, and all that stuff that happened out in the Emerald Forest accounts for nothing then? I saw - albeit later - how you four took down that Deathstalker. You and Pyrrah were amazing! And the way you took charge was just SO COOL.

That is all that matters to Professor Ozpin. I'm willing to put money on it. You earned your spot on the team out there in the Emerald Forest. Don't count yourself out so soon.

[She brandishes Rose at him.] Or you'll be answering to Rose.

How can you be so sure? What if the transcripts do matter in the long run, and he finds out they were faked? Besides, come on, the thing with the Deathstalker was more Pyrrha, Nora and Ren than me.

But, [he forces a small laugh] That was all nothing compared to what you and your team did back there.

[She gives a frustrated grunt as she swings Rose over her head and to the side so that the tip buries itself in the ground.]

It was a team effort. If you hadn't knocked back its pincer when you did, Pyrrha would've been stabbed in the back. If you hadn't noticed the stinger was barely hanging on after Ren's attack, Nora and Pyrrha wouldn't have been able to finish it off when when they did.

It is no different than what we did. Each team utilized each member of the team to launch an assault that ultimately earned victory. JNPR can't function without you, any more than it can without anyone else. The same goes for our team.

Professor Ozpin knows that. He's not going to kick the leader of the second best team in Beacon out just because he didn't file the right paperwork. Had you not been able to get your piece and back to the cliffs, that would've been one thing. But you did. You earned your place in your team the same as I did.
