[before Goku can feel the thrill of a battle and testing himself against the Saiyan Prince (yes, he was interested in a little test drive, so to speak), they were interrupted by the appearance of the mysterious woman. but it was apparent by how she was speaking to Vegeta that this was the 'God' that he was talking about. she looked no different from an Earthling though! ... pretty, but just another Earthling! although he and Vegeta would look like them too if it weren't for their tails (of which were gone but nonetheless)]

[as he's about to try and convince Vegeta they can do it, that's when Saori says her peace, his expression turning to one of a more serious tone as he thinks about it. their strength was cut in half, though he could only imagine transforming was possible still. and Vegeta had even managed to finally surpass him, even as a Super Saiyan 2 against the God of Destruction... if he was from the future and still couldn't?]

Darn. And I imagine Instant Transmission won't work either.

...the two of us never attempted anything on the barrier together. [Even he knew now, when they bothered to work together, they could achieve almost anything. And if they couldn't do it separately, they've managed to be able to do it together. Not but a few hours before he'd arrive in Luceti, they'd done just that. And Goku has always preached to never give up, and he's never been wrong yet. Perhaps...]

It's as good of an idea as anything. I say let's give it a go. I don't think those fools could of ever predicted two Saiyan warriors giving it their all against their pathetic defenses.
