AN OLD MUSE RETURNS
Aah! Mademoiselle! It has been far too long since we last spoke this way. I know you have missed our conversations and of course my company, and it's very fitting that a cinematic performance of Les Miserables should wake me from such a long sleep.
[a brief pause as he lightly brushes off nostalgia and the urge to hum Le Temps des Cerises.]
You don't have to worry about where to ah-- "put me" as you said. I am content to distract you from the vile grip of Angleterre; a worthy cause, non?
[ooc: I HAVEN'T PLAYED HIM IN AGES apologies for the rustiness]

[Flat look is flat as Switzerland slips his hands into the pockets of his slacks and watches the other nation expectantly.]
I trustyou can maintain a measure of control, oui?
no subject
Of course I can maintain a ah... measure of control! [HAH HA-- he laughs. And then a little more flatly:] I am not Amerique.
no subject
No, he's usually just immature and impulsive, whereas you... you're troublesome. Especially for a busy mun. It takes a lot of time to deal with you on a regular basis, you know.
Have a dude with a dog head.
always the best and most exciting tags from you, man

[Nope.]

It is nice to hear my native tongue in this place, I must say, monsieur.
Though the circumstances certainly make this a bit... strange for myself. What is your name?
no subject
Oui, is it not? I am sorry to say that this place breeds the strangest circumstances. My name is Francois Bonnefoy, monsieur Grantaire.
no subject
A pleasure, I'm sure.
[ He sounds so sure. ]
Is it because you are a fellow Frenchman that your mundane was, ah, inspired by the- by Les Miserables?
no subject
no subject
Ah yes, I have heard that before. We are all "France," are we not?

Oui monsieur, and where I would gladly leave the mystery as just that, I'm much too excited to speak with my citizens to engage in theatrical conversation. [Because it's pretty fun to be just Francis for once; it's just been so long since he could freely stretch his legs.]
Would the Monsieur care to see proof that I'm not unlike--ah say, Marianne? [the female representation of France throughout history
IF YOU AREN'T FAMILIAR THE WIKI IS REALLY FASCINATING]no subject
I do wonder how you would be able to prove such a thing, Monsieur Bonnefoy, but I would not be entirely opposed to the possibility.
If you care to attempt to surprise me.
HE REALLY WOULDN'T NORMALLY DO THIS EVER but. THERE ARE A SPECIAL FEW. and I also wanted feelings
Like a mirage or the way air shimmers in intense heat, it might feel to Grantaire like his eyes are playing tricks on him. At first the scar on the back of Francis' neck is invisible--but then it seems like with maybe a trick of the light, it catches the eye. It is an ugly thing made only by the stroke of a heavy blade which no man could survive even if his head and spine were in tact. The entire scar rings France's neck and he believes he need not explain its origins.
Those who died for him to bring about much needed change have earned openness from him. He can at least repay them with something; else he wouldn't have mentioned this at all.]
UGH FEELINGS
Of treason, kings, tyrants, republics, freedom- and of guillotines. ]
It's not possible.
[ His French is quiet, a hand going over his mouth. How can such a thing be real? ]
/HOLDS CLOSE
It's alright, my friend.
[France places his hands on Grantaire's shoulders; his smile, now a little less sad.]
SCUSE YOU
No. [ Stepping back a little. ]
Do not call me your friend, monsieur. You are my country, but that is all.
YOU'RE EXCUSED wait /sobs
Eh... That's alright, it's the way of things. [He waves a hand as if casually brushing away any possible conceived offense. He's still smiling but the warmth falters again and France's brows knit together.]
I wasn't a friend to my citizens, not as I should have been.
no subject
[ Swallowing hard. ]
You can survive a guillotine but you could not have made Enjolras live? Where are your loyalties?
no subject
Better than your slimy, clinging embrace.

You make it sound like you not being around is her fault... but isn't that mostly yours?
no subject
My absence was ehhh... merely a period of rest that I chose to have.

[ He bends over a little and appears to be pondering France's waistline. ]
And you guys call me fat and lazy...
[ And he's reaching out to poke France's stomach, checking to see just how much padding there is there now. ]
the mun is sorry for his behavior
My mun is of the opinion that you would fit in well at the place I am at. I'm still considering the best way to test the touch to health property of that place, having another nation with a lack of concern for personal space will be counter-productive.
[he's still staring]
This mun apologizes for this...
My mun is amused and I don't understand. You mean Big Brother Spain? I only hug because it's suppose to keep you from getting sick! I'm helping us survive!
[ See he's helping! ]
Re: This mun apologizes for this...
Spain is among those I am thinking of.
no subject
My mun is in agreement that you'd fit nicely in a place where you survive on touch and hugging! It would be fun to be able to see everyone!
You would probably get a lot hugs!~
