I cannot believe I'm doing this.. canon is Far Cry 3

'ello, my little Mun - My clever little Hermana. You did good, you know...making this journal...making all my pretty pictures..you did very well-

Are you fucking listening? Eh? Good. I do not want to repeat myself, I do not like repeating my fucking self, comprender?

You did very well, and as a reward, I would like to offer you some advice. Hm? You want to hear it? Well that's good, that makes me very happy, I'm very pleased that you are listening now

Listen close..very close..

Do not fuck this up. I'm telling you now, do not fuck this up - you fuck this up, and it will not end well for you. That is my advice, I suggest you take it but then again..you could always not. I don't know. I do not control you, only you control you, which..depending on how well your ears work..could not be a very good characteristic

[ The sudden laugh is mildly startling, and Lara tenses slightly, fists clenched, but it takes less than a moment for her to relax again. She could understand, at least in some small way, why this man would feel the way he did, but at the same time it was hard to comprehend when she knew the things they, as muses, went through for the sake of another's enjoyment. ]

That's a refreshing way to think, [ a moments pause, and she lets out a heavy sigh as she shakes her head ] but most here want to hide away because they don't wish to go to some game, or be tortured with horrors or oddities; they don't want to be a toy.

[ He had a point--people needed to overcome adversity to grow, but, for most, that adversity was nothing more than illness, or hate; it was the adversity that came with living in the modern world, and for the most part, it was nothing compared to the obstacles that came with the Charon, Yamatai, or even the Rook islands. Most people, even herself, were unprepared, physically and mentally, for real horror or adversity.

It was normal, human, not to want to deal with those things.

As he motions towards her weapons, Lara unconsciously brushes her fingers against the pistol attached to her side; just touching the cool metal brought back a feeling of fear, and control. Her expression tightens as she removes her hand from the weapon to cross her arms--her voice is kept tight, and controlled. ]

A ship, the kind of ship you never want to get on. [ it was straight out of a horror movie. Yamatai had been one thing, it had opened her eyes, but the Charon was worse, far, far, worse. ]

[ Lara releases her own laugh, though it comes out quiet, and more sigh-like than his. The Charon was a big adventure, but it seemed more steeped in horror than anything she had ever dreamed. ]

Lara. [ Archaeologist, adventurer, and total bookworm--though few would gleam that she was such a thing. She offers him a tight smile, lifting her head slightly in his direction in a quick upwards nod. ] You?

[ Who was this stranger? This man who made her uneasy, but seemed amicable enough--even with his scars, and weapons. ]

[ The more Vaas speaks, the more Lara realizes that this man had a few screws missing. It doesn't bother her, not in the way it would have before her life became steeped in adventure, but it was unnerving. He reminds her, in some small part, of the members of the Solarii--a little unstable, and possibly violent; he seemed to lack, however, the blind faith that made the Solarii so dangerous--lacked a man like Mathias pulling his strings.

She swallows stiffly, her lips pressed in a thin line. ]
I think I'm lucky to have never met such an American. [ To Lara, Americans like that mostly existed in the minds of those who watched too many movies--though, that isn't to say that violent Americans didn't exist, but rather that she had never met one (if she were discounting any of the Solarii, that is). ]

Do you... [ A single pause, hesitance, before she continues. ] Do you encounter people like that often where you're from?

[ With those words, and the click of his tongue, Lara's opinion of this man, this stranger, was cemented: he was dangerous, unpredictable, and quite possibly a killer. A part of her wants to rationalize, to understand--people go to his home, his island, and tarnish what is his, no man would stand by that, but to kill them? She licks her lips, a pit forming in her stomach, as she tries to keep disgust and fear from showing on her features. ]

You kill them? [ Her tone pitches high, but she reels it in quickly. ] Do they truly deserve that?
