Just because I happen to share a few interests with Holmes and perhaps one or two character traits does not make me related to him. Don't get me wrong-I'm thrilled to get to be associated with the legendary detective in any way but this isn't exactly what I had in mind. I want to be just like Sherlock Holmes, not be his son.

And before you say anything, there's nothing wrong with a parents I have now. ...Although, I guess it would be pretty cool to be Holmes' kid.

That's not always true you know, I often allow others to think I'm out of options as it helps to get them to lower their guard- really useful if a gun is pointed at you.

And continuing to argue the point adds to the defensiveness. If I had been merely trying to call your bluff to begin with, this would have solidified it.
