To suggest I "cheated" when consulting my counterpart implies the existence of rules governing interactions with and knowledge of alternate realities. No such rules exist, therefore no rules were broken.
I agree that his decision not to interfere with the current timeline is a logical one; however we both seem to have reached the conclusion that exceptions can be made. It seems likely that in both cases, this is due to Jim's influence.
Furthermore, I must object to your wish to "mash" Lieutenant Uhura and myself together in the manner of children's dolls. We require no external assistance.

[Trying not to laugh at that last part though.]

[Translation: What's the point of having all those regulations memorized if you can't use them to your advantage when you need to?]

Mash? Now, why would your mundane wish to do such a thing? [Amusement. Yes, there is some there.]

What? How? Uh, shouldn't the universe be imploding right about now? Uh, before. Earlier. When you two talked.
Spock. [An explanation would be so nice, Commander...]

I have spoken with my counterpart on more than one occasion. Our co-existence in the same reality has not caused a universe-ending paradox; the likelihood that our interaction would cause one is minimal.

[ 'mashing' Uhura and Spock together like toys, though that's funny. you get a snort out of that. ]
No external assistance, huh? What is that even like?

[Just have a Look, Kirk.]
You may have to be more specific, Captain.

But he shakes that thought away, not wanting to go there, again.
He focuses on the other bit, Spock talking to Old Spock (as Jim liked to call him, in all fondness). ]
So, do you like him? The other you?

Given that we are genetically identical, with similar patterns of thought, I believe it is irrelevant whether I "like" him or not.
[A brief pause.]
He is...very wise. Recognizing the irony inherent in the statement, I aspire to one day obtain such wisdom.

[...not that Seven cares about the Temporal Prime Directive all that much.]
His very presence would interfere, would it not?
[As for the mashing, she is so not going there. It is irrelevant.]

I did point out that treating us as inanimate objects existing solely for purposes of entertainment is in direct violation of several Federation laws.

[Really, Spock? Really?]

"Mash" is the word she used - I am unclear as to the details but it does seem somewhat unpleasant.
