I agree that his decision not to interfere with the current timeline is a logical one; however we both seem to have reached the conclusion that exceptions can be made. It seems likely that in both cases, this is due to Jim's influence.

Furthermore, I must object to your wish to "mash" Lieutenant Uhura and myself together in the manner of children's dolls. We require no external assistance.

The timeline alteration is fact, not a theory. It is impossible to grasp the full extent of the change, but there is no doubt that it has been profound thus far. The extermination of my planet being the most obvious example.
