To suggest I "cheated" when consulting my counterpart implies the existence of rules governing interactions with and knowledge of alternate realities. No such rules exist, therefore no rules were broken.

I agree that his decision not to interfere with the current timeline is a logical one; however we both seem to have reached the conclusion that exceptions can be made. It seems likely that in both cases, this is due to Jim's influence.

Furthermore, I must object to your wish to "mash" Lieutenant Uhura and myself together in the manner of children's dolls. We require no external assistance.

That's quite a loophole you both found, sir.

[Trying not to laugh at that last part though.]

[Another Vulcan and wasn't this Kirk's right hand man?]

Mash? Now, why would your mundane wish to do such a thing? [Amusement. Yes, there is some there.]

That may not have been the case, if the information that you needed to obtain was important in any situation. However the possibility of changing your timeline may not be plausible since it has not been proved.

[She gave him a curios glance at the last part]

Wait. You two talked?

What? How? Uh, shouldn't the universe be imploding right about now? Uh, before. Earlier. When you two talked.

Spock. [An explanation would be so nice, Commander...]

I know it isn't my place to talk out of turn, sir, but....mashed?

[personal profile] defusing 2013-05-19 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Not technically. I think that some people may still consider it one although I don't believe they'll complain.

Indeed. It is fortunate that you have no lasting effects from the possible change in your timeline. Therefore has there been any lasting effects on this others around you?

I see. I stand corrected then; the fact that it is possible is an interesting prospect.

[She gave him a confused look. What do you mean by that?]

You must be mistaken. Vulcan has not suffered extermination as there has been no change in the planets circumstances nor have there been any type of attack. Has something occurred without others knowledge?

Pretty sure that is cheating. I don't have another me to go off and ask what I should do in any given situation. Not fair that you've got someone.

[ 'mashing' Uhura and Spock together like toys, though that's funny. you get a snort out of that. ]

No external assistance, huh? What is that even like?

[personal profile] defusing 2013-05-19 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't argue with that.

[Not that she would. Spock being a superior officer and all.]

Probably not. Knowing the two of you, I'd get some shoddy excuse about timeline interference.

[ Have a raised brow and a somewhat shit-eating grin in return. ]

Fine, more specific? How do you two get it on? How does that even happen?

OH MY GOD I AM DYING

[personal profile] emboldened 2013-05-19 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Can we really just not. Talk about that. That would be great.

[ At that he's waiting for the answer that he's almost SURE is just going to be some canned robotic response about respecting the Lieutenant's privacy and not wishing to divulge yadda yadda yadda, so when the answer first comes Spock is met with an annoyed exhale and an eye roll, but then -

Spock did you just make a joke.

You did, didn't you. Son of a bitch. ]
I'm pretty much well aware of what goes where, Mr. Spock.

[ He makes a face at the mental image of Spock and Uhura "mashing" together in any sense (it was already beyond uncomfortable to be included in their relationship problems, he didn't want to think about what they got up to... together).

But he shakes that thought away, not wanting to go there, again.

He focuses on the other bit, Spock talking to Old Spock (as Jim liked to call him, in all fondness). ]

So, do you like him? The other you?

still giggling

[personal profile] emboldened 2013-05-19 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[ he's a bit defensive now, COME ON SPOCK that's just mean. ]

I know how it works, but I don't know how you work. If it's different. Or whatever. Xenobiology's not my strong suit.
