An old muse finally came back from lj; homeless but potentially looking

[ The voice comes soft, bitter, and amused all at once. And, it is not without a twinge of envy. For someone who is seemingly leading an empty and endless existence, that's quite a bit of emotion that can be read. That is, for those who know her. Otherwise, she simply comes off as stoic. ] One more. [ Wrath. ] To what end do we seek now, if there will ever be one? Will it all burn, like all those years ago? [ Does it seem like she's talking to herself? Oh, yes. ] Or will this simply continue on, a cycle never-ending?

[ ... ]

I do not pray, Mundane. The inevitable will play out in its fatality. It would be foolish to hope for a peaceful resolution.

[ She glances away, dismissively, a small smile upon her lips. ] Such hope... it is for the transient. [ True words, perhaps, and even truer still for her. She isn't transient. She's eternal. ]

Perhaps you are right. But without hope for the future, then there is only stagnation. I couldn't live like that.

[It would be far to boring.]

When one does not change, yes, that is the result. [ Stagnation. ] But change occurs regardless of hope, and it is not often for the better. So I ask: why waste time with it?

Because even if change happens regardless, even a tiny hope can have sway.

[It's why she's risking herself to find the missing women. Not just for Yufina... But because someone has to, and because someone has to be brave enough to.]

You are truly dedicated to this 'hope', I see. [ A chuckle. If it sounds like she's mocking her, well. She is. ]

If I don't hope, then I've already lost. It's as simple as that. And I can't go losing when there's countless missing women.

Because to what she remembers, Kachess Crim is, well, male and had married Yufina. Gdi, d_m, for confusing this sorceress so. And this young woman just seems to be an alternate variation of Kachess Crim. ]

[That gets a very odd expression for a moment, then a laugh.]

I should hope not! I was married against my will to a count in Marlon. I'm... Hardly a faithful wife, though, and I don't very much like the Count.

[lol Lesbians. which makes everything with Venomania twice as dangerous, and why she's masquerading as a man when she's in Asmodean.]

I... see. [ Confusing!! Does this mess up the time line? Oh, screw it all. She's not going to think about it. (La de da running away from emerging issues is fun~) ] Perhaps it is better that way. I would not fault you for not being faithful to someone of whom you are not fond. [ Although, issues of faithfulness or lack thereof did cause quite a few problems when sins are involved. ]

Although... it does make me wonder. [ Another pause, and her voice lowers. ] To what extent would you display that unfaithfulness. Adultery? Betrayal? ...Murder? [ Should she start reciting all derivatives of the Sins now, or... ]

...I do have a lover, but we've been trying to make arrangements to run away together for some time now. But that is about the extent I believe I would go to, and only for the woman I love.

Love comes with such high risks. If you are truly prepared to do everything for her... [ Her voice drifts off, but the meaning that Chessa should be ready to do anything is obvious. None of this ' about the extent I believe I would go to' nonsense. ]

...I suppose you're right. I guess I'd only like to believe that's all I'd do.

[But then, isn't she planning on slaying a demon to get Yufina back?]

[ Now she appears to be satisfied with that answer. ] If I have one hope in this moment, it is that I hope you do not expect to remain the same after this ordeal. [ It's said dryly. ]

I don't. I'll be facing a demon who could easily add me to the number of missing women. The risks are great, and it's quite likely I could fail--either by dying or becoming one of the missing women. But it's a chance I am willing to take if it saves Yufina.

[Pride is probably her greatest sin, oops.]

Your next question to ask, then, is apparent. This woman is everything to you. But, does she wish for you to experience this, to change in ways you may not know? [ Aaaand they're back to the topic of change. It's always a full circle. And, as she said before, change is not always for the better. ]

...I can't be sure of that. But I can't leave her in the clutches of a demon, either. Even if she despises me because of these actions, and leaves me-- So long as she is happy and safe afterward, I will gladly do what is needed.

[That's what she tells herself. She'd probably be very sad, but she'd deal with it and serve her queen like a normal countess.]

Time is ever-ticking for whom it holds much meaning. I suggest you be on your way.
