Why? Why must it be this way?
You tell me that it is because "that's the way the story goes", but the story was never told. You don't know what would have happened and how, why must you choose nothing but cruel paths for all of us to walk upon?
Why would you make me an instrument of hate if you have the power to change things?
I don't care what the fates of those who share my name are, you could tell a different story.
But you won't, will you? No, you want me to follow the ghosts of those who came before me into whatever darkness you conceive to be my inescapable end.
Grant me this at least, then: That it makes my mother smile.
