Well. I suppose this'll do.

Although it's been ages since you've paid me any notice. I think I saw a cobweb just the other day, as a matter of fact. So, a bit of practice before you get ahead of yourself wouldn't be out of the question.

Time for some spring cleaning, perhaps?

[personal profile] sedenquire 2011-12-30 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh? Then what is?

A New Year's resolution might be a more apt description of the business, yes.

[personal profile] sedenquire 2011-12-30 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, now that does sound familiar. Is it a common affliction among this community, do you think?

You do save yourself a lot of trouble, then. They're broken within a fortnight of making them more often than not.

They do, don't they? Perhaps not the metaphor that would have sprung first to my mind, but that is a rather accurate description. All those stray thoughts buzzing around creating clutter.

People like to feel better about themselves come the new year. Making promises they don't intend to keep helps.

[personal profile] sedenquire 2011-12-30 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, it did rather.

Quite. The state of many offices up and down the country after the festive period could attest to that.

Oh, you're a fellow Londoner? Excellent. I must confess Soho is not an area I usually venture into, although I hear that it does have its own brand of charm.

Dusty and cobwebby seems apt characterization.

I have four icons okay

You're too passive, that's the problem. You ought to try threats of violence.

Suit yourself, but you can't argue with results.

[Well, he doesn't have to believe you anyway.]

[personal profile] vaguelydownward 2011-12-30 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I still say results are results and you can't argue with good, solid evidence. Look at my plants.

Look, you want something from someone, you let them know they don't get much in the way of options. Brutal, maybe, but it's got whole centuries of credence.

Oh.

[He'll have to think about it, that does present a problem.]

[personal profile] vaguelydownward 2011-12-30 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, done properly there's no need for actual violence. You're right, that does make a mess.

Although fire is nice.

I mean, the way it dances, it's quite pretty. If you like that sort of thing.

[Sorry, he's thinking about fire now.]

Sorry. [He's not, really -- well, he is. In so much as he's capable of being sorry.] It's a professional thing, fire, you know?

I remember! On swords, or raining down with brimstone. Pillars of salt. Good times.

Yeah... [Fondly.]
