Though that could have ended better. Are we never to be rid of Daleks, even in other universes? And we were so close to getting home.

I don't know why you're so worked up about my outburst. I was only trying to introduce common sense, as futile a gesture as that is on this Gallifrey. Those people are not savages, and neither is Leela.

Supreme Leader, I think it would be much to ask for intelligent higher beings in this backwater universe. [ Or any universe in Narvin's opinion, but what can you do when they literally show up on your front doorstep from time to time. ]

True. I think though, we know what Daleks are, what they're capable of, this universe doesn't. I was certainly terrified, when I first met them, I don't know about you.

They'll grasp at any attempt to survive. Of those who aren't shot outright, some will attempt deals. We know what'll happen to them. Others may resist, but will they trust us to help them through? Even if the Daleks don't isolate us away? After all, our actions just before could be construed as suspicious.

...You know the first thing they'll do is secure those mines. [That's where the first major massacre will happen. The Outsiders certainly won't take kindly to being made slaves once more.]

I'm sure Leela will do her best evacuating the mines as best as possible. For someone so obsessed with fighting, if people see that Leela is backing off from a battle enough to make a coordinated decision, I'm sure they'll follow her. I'd probably follow her myself just for the shock of it.

Certainly if all three of us react more or less the same, it should clue at least one or two of them to follow her as well.

Wouldn't have pegged you to underestimate Leela's charisma. [ At one point he would never have stated that Leela had charisma in the first place, but how we grow up, eh? ]

Leela's done extraordinarily well, considering that no one knows what the Sevateem even is or where she came from, but threat of slavery over their heads, particularly from a powerful, alien force they've never heard of, let alone seen, may just drive them to panic and that's never good.

I'm just being pessimistic, Narvin, I'm sorry.

Quite. But I think we'd have to both agree that Leela is much more capable of handling that situation than we are. We're not just "Regenerators", after all. We're the Supreme Leader Romana and the Lord High Chancellor, and something tells me that they weren't the type to say "please" to slaves.

Yes, I know. [She couldn't bear to use his alternate's name after he killed that slave.] Some of them will no doubt cheer to see us brought low. And assuming we get that far... sell us to them.

When it comes to that, I don't think I'm taxing my brain to suggest hiding. Or at least throwing me to the dogs. Less to lose, as they say.

Because when has genocide ever fixed anything? [ It would have prevented a great deal of loss. And, it would of got rid of the Daleks.] If it wasn't the Daleks then some other race would have taken their place. Let's see! Would it be the Sontarans? I know they would love to take another swing at Gallifrey!
