Gallifrey V spoilers

I should be offended about your shock at my competency but admittedly, I do think these past few months have shown off some of my finest work.

Though that could have ended better. Are we never to be rid of Daleks, even in other universes? And we were so close to getting home.

Whatever's left of it, anyway.

I don't know why you're so worked up about my outburst. I was only trying to introduce common sense, as futile a gesture as that is on this Gallifrey. Those people are not savages, and neither is Leela.

Oh do stop.

Daleks are like cockroaches, you can never get rid of the damn things.

Narvin. I...[She's thinking of being Unit 117.] It's a certain poetic justice for these people to understand slavery, isn't it?

[She doesn't mean it, and you can tell she's more scared than anything: anger is how she copes because otherwise she'd be shaking in the corner having flashbacks.]

Yeah, probably.

Although the Time Lords weren't much better, by the end of the war.

Assuming they don't all get exterminated. [Sighs.] It's times like this that I wish I did believe in a higher being creating the universe, then I could give whatever it is a piece of my mind.

...Haven't seen the Guardians anywhere, have you? [They're close enough.]

True. I think though, we know what Daleks are, what they're capable of, this universe doesn't. I was certainly terrified, when I first met them, I don't know about you.

They'll grasp at any attempt to survive. Of those who aren't shot outright, some will attempt deals. We know what'll happen to them. Others may resist, but will they trust us to help them through? Even if the Daleks don't isolate us away? After all, our actions just before could be construed as suspicious.

...You know the first thing they'll do is secure those mines. [That's where the first major massacre will happen. The Outsiders certainly won't take kindly to being made slaves once more.]
liberal_gallifreyan: Romana's neutral expression from Shada (neutral)

[Sighs.] Well, Chancellor, do you have anything worth adding other than your rapier wit?

A bit of both, as usual, Narvin.

Certainly if all three of us react more or less the same, it should clue at least one or two of them to follow her as well.

Leela's done extraordinarily well, considering that no one knows what the Sevateem even is or where she came from, but threat of slavery over their heads, particularly from a powerful, alien force they've never heard of, let alone seen, may just drive them to panic and that's never good.

I'm just being pessimistic, Narvin, I'm sorry.

Yes, I know. [She couldn't bear to use his alternate's name after he killed that slave.] Some of them will no doubt cheer to see us brought low. And assuming we get that far... sell us to them.

Narvin. You might be smaller than Braxiatel, but I'm not throwing you anywhere, much less the Daleks' direction, do you understand? [She pauses for a second as she does think about that. How she wishes it was a thought beyond her. Frankly, it was unlikely to do them much in the way of good, anyway.] Hard on my back.

Besides, given our specialist knowledge, they'll think us more of a threat than the rest of the population. You'll only attract more attention.

liberal_gallifreyan: Romana's unimpressed expression from Shada (not impressed one little bit)

[personal profile] liberal_gallifreyan 2013-02-18 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[Unfortunately, Romana knows his ways by now.] Narvin. Don't do anything heroic.

We'll find out quickly enough. Relative to us, anyway.

Oh, you make it sound like a bad thing. [Ah, the old repeating back argument gambit.] Considering the number of kamikaze liberal heroes I've hung out with, I feel qualified to admit the only difference between you and them is the word 'liberal'.
liberal_gallifreyan: Romana picking herself up after the professor's TARDIS crashed. With added red and lights to suggest she's dazed (ow)

Well, the past tense is more past than I'd like, but I don't suppose being compared to the Doctor is particularly complimentary in your view either. Someone more patriotic. Well, no Brax wouldn't do… Wynter?

Well, now you see why I worry. [Why did I just stab myself in my hearts. Speaking of kamikaze.]
