re: hormones and valentines

We're not discussin' what that midden midge-raker said t'me about people bein' possessed by -- spirits. And I, for one, am glad y'don't have anythin' planned for me on [Implied Quotation marks here, as noted by the fact that she is using a heavy dose of Teenage Sarcasm ™] "Valentine's". Sounds overrated in my opinion.

Besides, y'have other people y'could be torturin'. Your headspace is filled with em'. I'm sure they'd enjoy it much more than I would.

[Oh, is she done talking?]

Oooor here's another idea. Why don't y'go out and find a date yourself? Just leave me out of it.

Maybe I could do something like that if I didn't mostly know combat magic. Mostly I could turn mine into an icicle, but I don't think that would help much.

It's fairly common where I come from. Magic is one of the things Etruria is known for, actually. I mostly use elemental spells - fire, lightning, things like that.

Hm. It doesn't sound like it works like my sort of magic, but if it did some powerful mages might come from there. Anima magic like I use relies a lot on working with nature spirits.

It's mostly a master-to-apprentice thing. I'm lucky, really - I'm being taught by one of the greatest mages in the country. Some families have a tradition of teaching it to their children, but Master Pent's a little young for that yet.

Oh, anyone can learn eventually. It takes a lot of study, though, obviously - I've been apprenticed to Master Pent for years. And I suppose some people do just have a natural talent. I met a girl once who was better at this than I am - at twelve. And almost entirely self-taught.

[no Erk don't give her ideas]

[He raises an eyebrow.]

Well, you'd have to find someone willing to teach you. Like I said, it mostly goes from master to apprentice. I suppose if you were to find a magic-user who could teach you, it would be possible.

[He hopes she actually heard the part about taking years.]
