Erebor or bust, mun. There are no alternatives.
Now I understand the grief of others concerning your kind.
[Thorin is not at all impressed by this mundane, scribe, whatever one wanted to call them. He cared not what their name, just that they could and would stop him from finishing his quest to Erebor.]
Do not think that options will make this better. A place filled with Smaug's kin or you threaten to send me off to be wed to some prince? These are no options, either way they are an obstacle in the line of too many I must face to take back our homeland. Do not think I shall stand for it, nor allow this to take place.
[He'll end this with some dwarven words growled out with a less than nice tone to them. No doubt some sort of threat or warning to his mundane. He's not going to these games. Over his dead body, or so he will certainly try!]

Fair enough, but then I wonder why any would flock to you or your kin.

Trying to win my ire? If so, I should state that was a rather pathetic attempt.
[He's more amused than angered right now.]
Have you always possess such a strong dislike for my kind?

It was no play for your ire, elf. [But if it had been successful he would have been pleased by it.]
No. My ire against your kind was earned, and I cannot fathom it dimming any time soon. [It surely hadn't over the years of Erebor having a live in dragon. If anything it had only boiled his hatred over the pot.]

[Shall he recite the tales of the First and Second Age, dear Thorin? The Elves know a thing or two about hatred, friend. Let's just say that the Elves of Middle-earth once had a knack for "kinslaying".]
Believe me when I state that nothing good can come from hate. Your quest for Erebor is an admirable one.
[A slight pause.]
But don't taint it with hate.

He's quiet for a moment, reigning in his anger as the surprise settles on him.]
... no small request when that has been much of what has driven me, but there is much more than that. It is not all hate. A need to give my people what they once had, to give us back our home.
For hope once again for the daughters and sons of the lonely mountain.

Then go and claim it. Retake what was lost and give your people the peace they deserve.
[Whether or not Thorin reclaims his mountain matters much to the Elves of the Golden Woods, but at least one wishes him luck.]
But don't ever lose sight of your goal.
