kinginexile: All icons by this journal. They suck. (Elrond you sassing me?)

Erebor or bust, mun. There are no alternatives.

Now I understand the grief of others concerning your kind.

[Thorin is not at all impressed by this mundane, scribe, whatever one wanted to call them. He cared not what their name, just that they could and would stop him from finishing his quest to Erebor.]

Do not think that options will make this better. A place filled with Smaug's kin or you threaten to send me off to be wed to some prince? These are no options, either way they are an obstacle in the line of too many I must face to take back our homeland. Do not think I shall stand for it, nor allow this to take place.

[He'll end this with some dwarven words growled out with a less than nice tone to them. No doubt some sort of threat or warning to his mundane. He's not going to these games. Over his dead body, or so he will certainly try!]

I advise you to choose the prince, if you can find it in your power to influence her.

[Not that he gets the least bit of satisfaction out of this genuinely well-intended advice, oh no. Dragons are serious business, though. Forced marriages, however absurd, are merely irritating by comparison.]

[No, he is not, and not just because decent icons of movie!Thranduil won't come around for, like, a year and a half. He is from the end of Bilbo's adventures and has softened a bit toward you thanks to, you know, spoilers.

That, and in his world, the whole elves vs. dwarves thing is actually the dwarves' fault. And Feanor's, sort of. Stupid Silmarils.]

Very well. I shall not offer it again.

[He tilts his head, impassive.]

You are not the same.

[It's not just that Thorin doesn't recognize him. He can't pin it down just yet.]
elvenking: (I don't mean rhinestones.)

Tolkien characters are too funny to take seriously.

[personal profile] elvenking 2013-01-05 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
[Do what? Not fight a dragon?

The Elvenking is in no hurry to answer. He's run into lots of Bilbos who have not yet encountered him, but this...this isn't the same at all.

No, instead of answering, he changes the subject.]

I should think you, of anyone, would be in no hurry to take up the company of dragons.

well. huh. this might be interesting.

[personal profile] littleone 2013-01-05 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
... take back your homeland, huh?

[ Sounds a little familiar. ]
littleone: because i love you (and you whisper in my ear)

[personal profile] littleone 2013-01-05 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oh.

Mine too, sorta. [ Less 'taken' and more 'forcibly changed.' Lucas can still live in his home; it's just changed so badly that he doesn't want to anymore. ]

... what happened? You don't have to tell if you don't want, but...

Bad people came, and they... changed it.

Me and my friends're tryin' to fix everything.

[ This is starting to sound more and more familiar. Lucas hoped he didn't have to fight the dragon when he found it, though. ] I think I believe you. You seem real brave.

I've gotta find a dragon kinda like that, too.

[A hint of amusement lingers within Lord Celeborn's gaze, but it's not so noticeable because of his stern features. This dwarf seemed to have won his interest tonight, a feat rarely achieved.]

What prince would your mun have you wed?

Calm yourself, Thorin Oakenshield.

Even if you are drawn to a world not our own, you and your kin will see Erebor freed from Smaug when you return. It will be as though time has not passed since having left.

[personal profile] sonof_thrain 2013-01-05 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
[Wed some prince? Ill words indeed.]

Do not allow your scribe to send you off on whims of their own. Taking back Erebor is what must be accomplished. I have found these scribes to be lazy and arrogant of late. They do not understand what we have been through and seen. They have a home, we do not.

[personal profile] tallest_dwarf 2013-01-05 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
D'not listen to your scribe, Thorin. They have obviously lost their head. One in the clouds as they say.

What's this about weddin' someone? Erebor is more important than some women, aye?

[personal profile] favours_thebow 2013-01-05 10:32 am (UTC)(link)
Wed a prince? Uncle? [Kili tried to keep a straight face.]

Your scribe is clearly in need of aid if they think they can determine your fate. Our fate lies with you and Erebor. I will gladly follow you wherever you choose.

I wouldn’t listen to your scribe Uncle. They seem to have some strange ideas for you it seems.

Or a dragon you must stir up and cause to attack the surrounding peoples.

[Dwarves are so stupid.]
