I suppose people have called me a "headcase" among other things for every time they have thanked me for saving their lives.

What can I say? I do it for the love of the job. Crazy blood mages, corrupt templars, naughty demons- what else have you got for me? A beach vacation would be nice. Maybe a demon or two so things won't get boring.

Being a headcase isn't necessarily an insult.

It means you are different.

I think our average is about eight per battle that is, before another wave comes along.

I don't mind. Much like my spells, it hurts them more than it hurts me.

I've accidentally shocked my uncle at dinner once or twice, but I've never done anything like that.

I might have made a typo or something but it's late so...forgive me if I make no sense.

You know, right when you think the battle is over, you take that first step and then- boom, rage demon screaming right behind you.

I don't think demons tend to be confined to just stairs, Hawke. Although it might make things easier if they were.

[Anders shakes his head, not certain he wants to keep talking about demons here.]

I don't think I heard too many people calling you a headcase before, though.

Maybe I'll let you borrow the Wabbajack sometime. It's a very good staff if you're lucky.

Do you think I can be a headcase, Anders? [He'd make a Justice joke here but he knows his limits about that.]

d_m is good for that! And you are doing well, I think?

[Anders smiles faintly, sensing what Hawke might be going for there, or at least knowing he's not the best person to make that distinction in some ways.]

Only in a good way, I think. You'd have to be a bit mad to do some of the things you do.

You can't make scrambled eggs without blowing up a few shells. [He grins.] Glad to know that I have just the right amount of crazy.

I don't think that's usually how it works, Hawke. [But he's smiling more now at that, glad to see that this version of Hawke has the same charm he's familiar with.]

So, how do you feel about this whole 'dragged away from Kirkwall at the whim of someone or something else' deal?

[Hawke shrugs.] I'm a terrible cook, can't you tell?

If you ask me, it's not that different from my daily life in Kirkwall. [He pauses.] Except the writer of mine looks nothing like a darkspawn. I bet you had quite the kick upon learning about this thing though. [Are there manifestos pasted in every post here? Hmm...]

I'm not exactly much better myself. It isn't as though they teach cooking in the Circle.

[Anders shakes his head at that question.] I didn't exactly spend much time here myself. I was a little more busy getting kidnapped to islands full of monsters and things.

With names like "Wounded Coast", I wonder why.

I bet the templars put a "no cooking class" rule on purpose so that it'd give apostates the chance to die of starvation while hiding out in the woods.

[He blinks. Now that's a story to tell.] Oh sure, have a beach vacation without me.

It's not exactly much of a vacation, I'm afraid. Sometimes I wonder if I'd rather be back in Kirkwall.

[But that has it's own set of difficulties...]
