Which canon, huh? Welp, I gotta say that's a bit tricky. Sometimes it's more recent within the Kingdom Hearts canon. Other times the mun decides to take all of my history into account! I try tellin' her to narrow it down to make it a little easier, but she easily forgets that piece of advice as soon as it's said. But oh boy, Rescue Rangers. We remember that and the whole Disney Afternoon block!

As for my end? Well, I've done some investigation here. It looks like my godfather did something unethical and really stupid, setting himself up as god of his own little system. Something went wrong and his own Programs turned against him, trapping him there. He runs off and hides while the Programs who still believe in him are slaughtered - or worse. Even better, he didn't tell the people who loved and trusted him about any of this, so we're left for 20 years with nothing but questions and dead ends.
Then, even more greedy and stupid people found out about the stuff Flynn discovered, and launched an attack. Pop and I barely held them off, but they'll be back.
And cap it with Disney XD deciding that the best place for the series continuing the whole story is midnight on Monday.

...I'm sorry to hear about all of this so belatedly. Wish there was more I could do both inside and out. Then again, we can't go changing things that have already been determined.

I guess the question the Mun and I both have is: What's the right thing to do next? She's going to send us all into the mess, and I just hope I don't make things worse.
But...part of me hopes to meet my brother, even if he really is screwed up right now. And I hope my sister's still alive. Yeah, they're Programs and don't have the concept of "family," but I don't think I care.

Bein' a king, I know I'd go just to see and make sure nothing else does go wrong. But ya can't always go in to make things right. Mean as they can be, no offense, the muns are pretty sympathetic when it comes down to the details.
Since we've only been informed of this now, me and my mun are hoping it goes okay. And who knows? Maybe they understand. The concept's not completely foreign, right?
