vague hobbit stuff i guess.
There are many tales of Dale and Laketown. You know Bard the Bowman well, but there is bravery in even the poorest farmers in the North, for they battle harsh winters without complaint, and they fight as hard as they could against any remnants of the armies of the Shadow. I have spent much of my life amongst them, and I recall their strength with admiration.
'Tis a true pity that the scholar who penned our tales did not see fit to tell their stories.
[ A pause, his head cocked to the side, and he chuckles softly. ]
Aye, those were once my words. There is little shame in the admission of my mistake. [ Pause, then lower: ] I know their valour well, for I have been schooled by the race of Men themselves.

[rraaaising an eyebrow. perhaps if it were another, there would be more offense taken, if any at all. but it is aragorn, worldly as he is; it is only mild teasing.] Did you think less of us in the Wilderlands?

'Tis strange, Legolas, that you believe 'tis only only possible to hold regard only towards either Men, or the Elves. Can I not praise both with the same breath?
[ They'll return to the bit about the unwritten stories. Later. ]

You may, of course; a king will do as he wishes. But I meant rather all the Free Folk of the Wild Lands, not only the Elves within it.
[laketown dale-men be his bros too, yo.]

The Free Folk will thank you well, Legolas, for your consideration. [ Tease tease. ] Do you wish me to tell you tales of Laketown Men, so you might be assured of my regard of them?

Stories become legends and songs. A great shame to see the world with one less song in it.

[ He pauses, and looks outwards, his eyes distant for a moment. ]
The stories now told are of great Men, of Elves and Dwarves and Hobbits who have accomplished great deeds, whether or not they think it so themselves. [ Boromir. Frodo. Sam. Merry and Pippin. ] Yet the stories of these farmers are plain tales, and I do not know if the bards will make songs and legends out of the struggles of common Men.

Then again, I possess very little fondness for Bard the Bowman.

Has the Man of Dale treated you ill in some way, stranger?

His errant claim for the treasure that lurked within the caverns were more than enough to win my ire.

Forgive me. I did not recognise you, my Lord, the King under the Mountain.

i am not sorry
There's a long pause before Boromir's face breaks into a grin.]
A King of Men should not concede to any amount of ignorance.
WHAT ON EARTH IS THAT ICON LMFAO
That depends, does it not, of his Steward's adherence to his duty to remove the King from ignorance?
A SUGGESTION DEAR ELESSAR
A Steward is still only a Steward, and helpless if the King is not like to heed him. The King has the final word on these matters, after all.
WHY DON'T YOU COME HERE AND PUT YOUR MOUTH TO ANDURIL
I believe the Steward should be clever enough to find a way for the King to heed him. After all, I do believe the King is a reasonable Man.
ARE YOU TRYING TO OPEN MY THROAT?
NO NOT ANDURIL. I MEANT *ANDURIL*
...oh. In that case /OPENS WIDE
so nice of you, boromir :3 :3 :3
LATE 8C
RIGHT ON TIME
He smiles. ]
Aye. [ Softly. ] At last now I believe the tales told and remembered will never be the bravest of all those who live.
\o/!
A soft smile graces those golden features. ]
It is well said.
Courage and strength of heart can be found in the most unexpected of places.

You talk about men as if you aren't one of them.

He smiles slightly. ]
Can a King rule over those who are not of his own race? [ He cocks his head. ]
You have a familiar face, milady, but you are strange to me.
