There are many tales of Dale and Laketown. You know Bard the Bowman well, but there is bravery in even the poorest farmers in the North, for they battle harsh winters without complaint, and they fight as hard as they could against any remnants of the armies of the Shadow. I have spent much of my life amongst them, and I recall their strength with admiration.
'Tis a true pity that the scholar who penned our tales did not see fit to tell their stories.
[ A pause, his head cocked to the side, and he chuckles softly. ]
Aye, those were once my words. There is little shame in the admission of my mistake. [ Pause, then lower: ] I know their valour well, for I have been schooled by the race of Men themselves.
