I appreciate the attention you're giving me by keeping me in your thoughts lately, mundane, and I'm glad you're playing me if that's what you want. [Even if some of the mun's thoughts are weird or disturbing. . . .]

Nonetheless, I always wind up in some. . .interesting conversations with that boy, don't I. I don't particularly mind! But one way or another I make him cry much of the time. . . . Generally, I don't have such a problem with children! But I suppose if they're from a time long before I was born, it's understandable. . .right? Ah, and child nations that young are also complicated in general. . . .

But I'm happy I can help him, at least. Well, I certainly hope I can help somehow. Though, sometimes I wish we could just play together instead. . . .

I-in any case! If you'd like to continue playing me for now, please do so! It's nice to get some air. But don't forget to balance things out! You were doing well almost the entire week--there's a time for work and a time for play, so please remember your priorities.

Sleeping in a timely manner is one of them(even if, knowing you, you'd have simply lied in bed restlessly until about now if you'd gone to bed any earlier.) Now go!

[he hadn't considered that. His other selves did look more or less alike. And he remembered that dogs saw more with smell than with their eyes. Considering this he approaches]

It's alright, you can smell. [and he's blushing because he's embarrassed]

[His sight is--mostly fine!! Mostly. . . . .]

[Wags his tail a bit! Because he does actually like smelling people. Besides that it's rude and such. Smells are nice.] Th-thank you! It won't take long, so. . . ! [scoot scoots towards you and starts sniffing at a bit]

[he tries to hold still not wanting to move. It was actually rather cute to see to see this version of himself so eager to smell. He had to make sure his brother never came in contact with this version of him]

[He could've moved. It wouldn't have bothered him too much, unless he moved a lot(but then he might try and play with him.) He stepped back when he was finished, resisting the urge to lick him or bump his head against him.]

What do I smell like? [he wondered. If the werewolf version of him had a nose half as sensitive as his three dogs, what did he smell like to them]

Hm? [That's a bit of a difficult question. Ears shift a bit as he gives it some thought.] Ah, well, countries overall have a smell similar to fairies and sprites--it's a connection to land that gives them that similar smell. More specifically, Germany smells of beer and forest and the Baltic sea, and something like industry--but while other heavily industrial nations might smell a bit like smog, we smell less so, likely due to use of clean energy and such things. . . ! Because we're rather strong economically, and thus healthy, we smell healthy and somewhat of gold. We're a younger country, so we smell young, however our lowering birthrate also has a strong influence on the way we smell! Our smell of beer is due to preference and general high alcohol consumption. There are other smells that make us Germany, as well!

As for personally, the brand of soaps and shampoos you use is easily identifiable, you spend much of your time with your brother, you own three dogs, two cats, meat is a large part of your diet, overall your health is good, though you frequently suffer from stress-related illness, [rambles on about all the things he can smell and deduce from you--probably tells you what you had for breakfast this morning and how long ago you washed your hands, too. ~~and everything and everyone you've touched since then.~~ Realizes he's rambling and cuts himself off after some point, with a somewhat embarrassed whine.]

. . . a-as for other things that make you specifically identifiable among my counterparts, those are hard to explain. There are things like who you spend your time with frequently and what you usually eat or spend your free time doing(and how much you have,) but everyone has a specific smell, as well! It's simply something that you need to smell close to get--otherwise, counterparts can smell very similarly!!

[Somewhere in there he pulled out a notepad and started to take notes. Could the werewolf version really smell all of that. It was all true, every single bit of it... and made him want to wash his hands again because he hadn't really noticed how many people he had touched since the last time he washed.]

You discern all of that from scent?

[Wolves have very strong senses of smell. . .they can even smell if their prey is sick or old. Of course, that means he sacrifices eyesight, but. . .Italy's still artistic! And he's still(more like was but still is if needed) a soldier. So clearly it isn't a problem!]

Of course. However, I can only really smell things from the last few hours--rather, since you last showered or washed your clothes. Running water can clean away most scents--combining that with most soaps means that a lot of things are lost at the end of the day. . .not that I discourage bathing of any sort. [so feel free to wash your hands.]

Bathing and personal hygiene are necessary for interaction in normal society. [and there's that lecture tone of his]

It must be difficult to go around with such a heightened sense of smell.

Grooming one another re-enforces closeness between members of a pack as well. [what is normal society. He lives in a mix between normal society and not-so-normal society.]

I suppose it can be somewhat distracting, at times. However, I've always had it, so it isn't so much of a problem! Because I don't know anything else! [he can't(well, he can, but it's not too pleasant) imagine not having such a strong sense of smell. think of all the things you're missing!]

[he opens his mouth to say something, but then closes it when he remembers walking in on his Brother, France, and Spain doing some light drinking]

That's why they were giving each other pedicures... [and he just thought it was some sort of dear]

[it's because of the things he knows he's missing that he doesn't want an enhanced sense of smell] There are not scents that you rather not smell?

[tilts his head and his ears. But nods.] Yes--it's the right of the pack's members to be able to care for one another that way. [So when Italy busted into his shower he didn't freak out at all.]

W-well of course there are. [Garbage, smog, being in a battlefield during a war is. . . .] Cities often have many unpleasant odors, as do people, themselves, and plenty of plants--and at times good smells are deceiving, or a strong sense of smell makes you susceptible to various forms of magic. But much of the time, the world isn't such a bad-smelling place. And having a strong sense of smell is quite useful, as well. And, over time, bad smells will often simply become "normal," part of your regular atmosphere and you rarely notice them unless they've changed in some way. [like how you can go to someone's house and notice the way it smells, but you don't notice a special smell to your house.]

[Excuse him if he's a little long-winded. He doesn't usually get to talk about this sort of thing. He doesn't usually think about how it works. It's interesting!]

[he hadn't thought about any of this. All he knew, was that it was always rather strong smelling when his brother decided to cook... then again that was probably from the amount of butter and garlic his brother insisted on using]

Bad smells are deceiving as well.

Mm. [He nods in agreement.] Unfortunately, intent isn't something you can usually smell. Unless it results in a hormonal change--but that only happens in most living things.

Fascinating. [he jotted this down on his notepad] This has been an educational experience.

I don't usually think much about this sort of thing, being natural for me, but I'm glad you learned something!
