[ His laugh is quiet and embittered as he lowered his hood then played with the strings anchoring his mask. The mask drops to the floor with finality and a soft thuf.

The sensation of his face laid bare again is surreal, to say the least. Then again so is it to see this woman again. After... ]

Noatak...? [She steps closer, light coming into her eyes at last.] You're alive. Oh spirits, you're... oh, Noatak-! [She holds out her arms. She can deal with the reprecussions of the mask on the floor later. Come here and let her hold you.]

[ Words left him; to suddenly feel his long since abandoned mother embrace him as if their estrangement never happened. There's a knot tightening in his chest that isn't from her arms squeezed around him. ]

Not favoritism... Noatak is much more troubled than Tarrlok is. And Tarrlok is more talkative; easier to discuss problems with. I worry more for Noatak than his brother.

Well, I'm good. It's a little confusing talking to people from the future, but I'm glad to see you and your brother, even the older ones. A mother is nothing without her sons. [She hugs him back, smiling.] I'm glad you have a nice mun.
