on learning that I'm making pie tomorrow...
So I can't help with the measuring because it's all pre-measured, and I can't help with the baking because I'm not physically there, which is the same reason I can't help with the tasting.
What can I help with?
... you're going to let me pick the music? FANTASTIC!

[That's disappointing, she does love sweets.] Music, though? Do you at least get to do some dancing, if not tasting?
[Not implying she might do that when she bakes... what, don't look at her like that. It's fun]
no subject
[yes, because the mun baking is exactly the same thing as a revolution. Totally.]
no subject
I think you mean baking, right? Just good, harmless baking?

[Small laugh here, because he's kidding, definitely. Right?]
I mean, maybe it'll revolutionize the world of pie-making-baking-whatever you would call it.

Might not be a revolutionary pie, though. However, your mun has the advantage of being able to make pie, mine is hopeless in the kitchen.

Those were good.
This one's just pumpkin, or these ones, she can't ever remember from year to year if a can each of pumpkin and condensed milk makes one or two pies.
no subject
Shame none of that pie will be makin' it's way over here, pumpkin is good. Better than good, great, really - oh, I haven't had pumpkin in a long time... [Really, she's useless for help. Her mun's awful at baking, and she doesn't do it enough to know]

Suppose there's some overlap, though, if you really think about it.

You ever watched any Food Network? Barmy, the things they come up with... [Like themed tarts, for instance] Has she made other themed things, your mun?
no subject
She also thinks Guy Fieri is kind of a jackass (but she thinks his kids are adorable)
And she's also reasonably sure she'd get too many ideas and think she's capable of more than she actually is.
Hasn't really done any other themed things, closest she's come is making Caribbean Shrimp Tacos before going out to see Little Mermaid on stage.
Sorry! Sleep & errands happened
It's hard watchin' those shows, they make everything look so easy, not to mention, er, affordable.
n' really, I like Alton Brown. That's a fun fellow. He's like, like, if the Doctor cooked. All the Doctor ever wants to make is toffee, however.
then holiday dinner ate me instead of the other way around!
[A bounce of a shrug]
Companions know our own, sort've a sixth sense.

What's pie?
no subject
It's a food, dessert, usually, but sometimes dinner, that's usually a pot pie or a shepherd's pie or a handpie, though.
But handpies can be dessert too, just depends on what's in them, really!
no subject
What's a shepherd?
no subject
Handpies because they're eaten with the hands instead of a fork and knife. Pot pies because they were originally baked in pots, I guess, and shepherds are the guys who watch the sheep, dunno why they've got a pie named after them, though.
no subject
Well, okay. That makes more sense.
Hi. My name is Krypton.
no subject
Well, Tardis, really, but Thomas is less confusing to most people.

See? Most of them don't quite know what to do with acronyms as names, even though they've got plenty of them.
