Maker help me. Do you honestly need me here? There is little space in your head as it is and I don't see a need to fill it beyond the limit. Yes, I know a lot of them are inactive, but I might add to that pile. I'd rather throw myself at the feet of the Knight-Commander and beg that she take me in because I'm a horrible Apostate than to become nonexistent.

Just, put some thought into this before you actually make any commitments. I also hope you're not picking me up because of the possible romances you heard about. If you're in that dire need of romance, as Varric to write you something.

Trust me, friend, these mundanes rarely use sense where it applies to us.

You will find such occasions to merit celebration.

I know of your sister; my mundane has ... played the game? I'm still confused on that.

Regardless, I understand where you're coming from. It is the job of her like to be diplomatic ... at times, but mostly to hit things with giant slabs of metal.

Our role is the more subtle one, I fear. We trade in direct power for basic sense and the regard to actually see said sense through. Mostly. There are exceptions, of course.

It's a little different. I can assure you that much.

I cannot assure you regarding your brother or your sister, but that's neither here nor there.

These mundanes, however strange they may be, do tend to come through most of the time. It's just those odd little instances where their sadism takes over their mind that you have to look out for. I've been turned into a woman because of a stupid curse more times than I like to really remember.

Whatever wizard came up with the idea of cursing a sword-belt to turn men into women and women into men was sick and in need of a better hobby.

You try being too weak a spellcaster to remove the curse and deal with that damned girdle then! I was stuck as a woman for three months while we were out in the wilderness.

Remove Curse should do just that; I shouldn't have to be such-and-such a level of spellcasting power, too...

Well I'm not sure how much of an academic you are but I think you might find this place not so bad after you meet some of the more interesting beings around here.

Well...you know what I'm just going to sum up my answer to this "What would Isabela say?"
tinfoil_angel: (Default)

[personal profile] tinfoil_angel 2012-01-30 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes and sadly the Isabela definition of that phrase does happen. Although demons aren't quite as pervasively evil as they are in your world.

Well part of the difference is they have their own physical bodies in some cases, so no real need for possession.

Then some of them are more like people in personality. Some of them even did things for good purposes.

magerights: (excuse me what)

[personal profile] magerights 2012-01-30 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't ever say you'd go to Meredith instead! Better to be a free mage no matter the circumstances than a Circle prisoner, believe me.
magerights: (those never forgotten)

[personal profile] magerights 2012-01-31 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Then you shouldn't joke about such things. Meredith is a danger to any mage, even those in the Circle already. There are better options than that.

If it's a place to go that you need, I may be able to help you with that.
magerights: (what is this I don't even)

[personal profile] magerights 2012-01-31 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Why would I want something like that? I'm not the Circle, sending people to Harrowings.
magerights: (gentle amusement)

[personal profile] magerights 2012-01-31 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if you are interested, I think you'd be welcomed at the island myself and others are on. Although, your brother might be in for a shock.
