On considering Jarjammed
I knew you had a bit of a sadistic streak in you, mundane, but this is really above and beyond your regular abuse of power.
As if thrusting me into a strange world wherein I am required to perform pointless tasks while Agatha needs me in Mechanicsburg is bad enough.
I might have to seriously rethink the amicable status of our relationship.

... wait, Mechanicsburg?

You know of Mechanicsburg?
[You really don't look like anyone from Europa, but I guess that doesn't mean anything.]

Also, you're being a drama queen.

[Frowns and hands on hips] You really aren't in a position to judge whether or not I'm exaggerating.

It unfortunately doesn't help with all the plans my mundane has for me within the game.
[Wait...]
Do I know you?

[The sideburns are what threw him off.]
What did happen to your eye?

How very well-deserved.

Looks like I am invited!
Wait, that means being stuck in a jam jar with you.
Hopefully not a literal jam jar.

Hah! And here I thought my bees were the absolute tops. I mean, they are extraordinary, dancing and playing instruments and the like, but mammoths. You'll be like one of those caveman chappies with furs and spears and such.
Oh, but I hope you don't go hunting them. That wouldn't be jolly at all...

My wardrobe's grown by leaps and bounds!
It's a damn sight better than where I came from, that's for sure.

Alchemize... clothing?
I don't think alchemy works at all in the same way in my world as in jarjammed...

You can make things out of grist -- a substance you get from killing monsters -- and you can combine things. It's really rather wonderful! You'll love it.
The game really isn't as bad as everyone else seems to think! I mean, there are some rather scary aspects, but overall it's better than being back home.
For me, at least.
Maybe your home is just wonderful, I wouldn't know.

Apparently Theo is there, and there may also be a Gil, but I still think it's a poor use of my time and energy.
[Of course he's worried about you. You're you. Also your town is burning and he's not going to let that happen.]

[No seriously. You are not ALLOWED to hurt each other. She will resurrect you both just to kill you again.]
Well, if Theo's right, you'll be returned to the same spot with no time having passed, probably due to the multiversal nature of the game. But...
We do need you.
[You mean "I," dear.]

[Does he.... know.... you?]
...[TARVEK DON'T BE RUDE GOD]
ahem... yes.. something about an ultimate goal of the quests and them helping win the game?

That is the general idea! From my experience, some sidequests get you some important information about the planet, and thus get you closer to your denizen. Even the ones that don't are fun, though! It's like an adventure!
