... Really? Are we actually about to do this song and dance all over again? I'm getting on in years, you know, I can't move on my feet like I used to and even if I could there are other partners I'd much rather tango with.
Let's get down to brass tacks. Rewatching a few episodes doesn't mean you're ready to play me. You know it, I know it, everyone who's reading along to all of this knows it so why don't you take a step back to reconsider what you're doing before you embarrass yourself?
It might be a little late for that, actually, since... well. Here I am, already. At least try to make it worth my while this time. Last time turned out to be horrendously uneventful, and if there's one thing you should remember about me it's that I need certain... cravings to be filled.
It's sex. I'm talking about sex.
... oh, and about these keywords. I'm not sure who this "Phoenix" fellow is, but if he really does need a new suit I do know some people in the business.

Seems like patience isn't really a thing in these parts.

[ Even when you've been around for six hundred years. ]
Maybe it's good. Means you have a little faith left or something.

Shoutaro Hidari, detective of the Windy City, Fuuto. I've worked with the members of Crane, Poole and Schmidt's Tokyo branch in the past, and they've said... interesting things about you.

I have a strange feeling that I'm not so popular in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Sometimes I just mention your name and the senior partners will start involuntarily twitching. Yomiko-san rushes out of the room for some reason, and when she comes back she seems to glow. You know anything about that?

[ At the mention of the senior partners Alan laughs shortly, but Yomiko's name encourages a smile of a rather different sort. There's no one in the world who would describe that smile as being innocent. ]
You don't get far as a lawyer by having loose lips, you know.

[Oh, Shoutaro knows that look. He knows that look all too well.] Ah, but it is a lawyer's ability to present the facts in such a way that his side appears favorable to the jury that makes him so invaluable to his firm and clients, is it not? Words are power in the courtroom, after all. [smiles back in a similar fashion.] Loose lips may not become a lawyer, but his ability to tongue twist allows for more interesting, rapid fire rebuttal, would you not say?

[ A pause, as he glances towards you. Not you, Shoutaro, you. The mun. He sees you.
He winks.
Then gets right back to it. ]
Mm. I think it will suffice to say that... tongue twist is the most applicable term you could have used to describe the situation in question.

[Hi Alan! I'm waving to you from in the real world! I hope you find a Denny Crane!]
Is that right? My own skills with the spoken word are sufficient, but as a detective I find that a hands-on approach gets better results, you know? You need to be willing to get your hands dirty in the search for truth.
