'So many thunder bolt jokes, so little time' isn't a particularly conventional reason behind an indefinite partnership with an overpowering entity, but don't let my incredulity fool you.

Well, I hope that was up to standard, because it's unlikely to bear repeating for another - don't do that with your lips, I only know one cure for it - for another century or three.

[ he finally reaches, fingers curling in zeus' shirt. ]

Last I recall, requests were made in worship on one's knees.

[ Thank go - himself he has enough millennia of experience with unconventional kissing to manage a demanding tempter and a lit cigarette. ]

[ he goes up on his toes for it, finally smiling a little. ]

[ He gives a moment's rest before his lips come down, somehow demanding and everywhere at once: Ganymede's forehead, his eyelids, the tip of a nose and the full mouth. ]

[ a hiccup of breath, leaning into the press of his lips, pressed close. ]

I do try not to. Sometimes, just-- the way you talk to me-- [ but he's tired of arguing, tired of talking about it. ] --I'll try harder.

[ it's amazing, really, what a little tenderness does for ganymede. ]

[ The unarrested hand lingers a moment on Ganymede's nape, working the poor boy's muscles there; the other returns him his damned cigarette. ]

There, there. We'll take you for a very nice and very long evening stroll across the city, and I shall pretend heroically that I do not notice the interested glances you happen to be earning from more people than I care to give the count. For the first half hour. How is that?

I don't care about other peoples' glances. [ he plucks the cigarette away long enough to give him another peck of a kiss. ] Just yours. Let's go to the beach when you start to get tired of people.

[ He has to laugh, between the cigarette manhandling and the indirect order. ]

I hope, for both our welfares, that if you plan to keep me so formidably whipped, you'll be working a silken leash and some very flattering bondage gear.

[ another kiss to his chin, then his shoulder, managing an innocent glance back up. ]

We can stop somewhere and look for something you'd want me to wear if you like.

[ Ah, how kittenish they all get when they want something. ]

We can, can we? You're quite sure it can be fitted in your exceptionally busy schedule?

Well.. only if you want to. [ tucking his hair back behind an ear, vaguely self-conscious. ] It'd just be for you, after all.

[ And playfully tugging free the very lock Ganymede had carefully tucked back - ]

'Just for me' happens to be how I best enjoy you. I hadn't thought I might after all these years, but...

[ He leans into his cigarette again. ]

We live to dream, hope and surprise.

[ he's surprised some days, too. none of zeus' other mortal lovers had lasted so long-- not to his knowledge, at least.

he presses the cigarette gently back between zeus' lips, expression brightening, hopelessly fond. ]

It just goes to show that I really was made for you, no matter how awful we can be to one another sometimes.

[ A few fleeting caresses of lips on the tips of Ganymede's fingers - because at least this once, the stick wasn't stomped - and the cigarette is regained. ]

And no matter that you still can't polish a cup.
