Kronk's hospitality fail

I sure met a lot of new friends the last few days, mun! Some super duper nice, some...uhh. Still working on their nice side.

But one thing really confuses me about all those people. [Focusing his thoughts, now. On the people. That was important!] Okay... here it goes.

Why don't they like free food? It doesn't matter if I offer 'em some spinach puffs or some cheesecake or cookies or a healthy salad or a fruit kebab... it seems like they're never hungry! Do you think they're eating when I'm not looking or that they eat different food that I dunno about yet, mun? [Kronk just didn't understand. If someone gave him some free food, he'd be over the moon! How come these people didn't want any?]

Wait. [Squint.] You don't suppose they're all allergic, right?

Hey, I was happy to eat the bacon! (so were my pups!)

Yeah, but you're a doggy! Doggies aren't as picky about eating. No offensive, little guy.

[Big smile.] Great to hear though!

No offense taken, although for a street dog, I was pickier than some (I had my favourite restaurants I'd visit for handouts.)

You're right about humans, though. They'll throw out perfectly good food! Can't imagine anyone doing that to yours.

Hah! That reminds me, I always smuggled Bucky, that's my pet chipmunk, into restaurants! He only ate nuts... but he liked custard pudding too.

[Kronk blinked slowly.] It just kinda... made me feel sad. I worked really hard on that food and then they didn't even want to try it!

Not even one, [Sniff!] Cookie.

Aw, that's too bad. But I think I saw a couple of people trying your stuff. Like the pink cloud and that kid with the cherry-red hair. And hey, I'm sure my humans would like your food!

[squeak_squeaker]

You're right! For every person that...uh. That didn't like it, someone else did. [That thought made Kronk smile.]

Woah... do you really think so? Maybe I get to meet them one day!

Oh yeah! [wags tail] I'll bet there are a lot more than WOULD eat it than wouldn't. Some humans are just cranks that wouldn't know a good thing if it bit them on the spinach puff.

Sure! Come by anytime; the puppies would love to see you again, and Jim Dear and Darling are really nice humans.

[squeak_squeaker]

On the spinach puff! That's a good one, bud! [It make Kronk giggle! A manly giggle, that is. Very manly.]

They seem like they're great, especially if they have that many dogs! Do you think they'd need a henchman?

Nah, they don't need a henchman, but they might be able to use a cook! Darling is pretty busy with the baby, she's probably appreciate the help, and the rest of us wouldn't mind the side-benefit of eating more of your food!

[squeak_squeaker]

Do you really think they'd have me? [Kronk's eyes grew big.] I'm...uh.

They're not going to mind how I'm not... from. Uhh. From where they're from? [He knew a lot of these modern people thought his man-skirt looked funny!]

Sure! They're very open-minded. Besides, we don't exactly live in modern times ourselves; our world is sorta stuck in olden times where ladies wore long skirts all day long and the man did all the wage-earning. Someone like you may be unusual to them, but that doesn't mean bad.

[squeak_squeaker]

[Kronk gave his outfit a wary look.] Should probably invest in a poncho before visiting.

I...uh. I don't want to give that poor lady a heart attack. Especially not if she's so nice to puppies!

She'll be okay, don't worry. I can't exactly warn her, since dogs aren't supposed to talk, but she'll welcome you, I know it. Come by tomorrow and see!

You can talk to me! I'm fluent in all the little animals.

[Kronk smiled and chewed on his bottom lip a little. Was he going to be like a guest?]

Should I bring a present for 'em?

No need for that, they'll be glad to meet you, anyway!

Gee... they seem really nice! I dunno if I know anyone back home who's that nice. [Kronk was almost a little jealous of Tramp.]
