Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back.

Because cats are nice?

Although the nine lives bit comes from the fact that they can walk away from what should be fatal falls, I believe.

They are very tenacious creatures."

It is a bit cruel to the poor cat, isn't it?

Although I once read a funny story where they tried the experiment and the cat very sensibly wandered away. The 'moral' was something about needing better boxes.

"Are you certain? Needing better boxes is a moral? I know we're far from experts, but that doesn't sound right."

It was a spoof moral, I think.

I've become rather fond of a book called Catch-22. Black comedy, quite hilarious.

"Yes, I've heard of it. Personally, I think their science fiction is amusing. They get so much wrong!"

Oh, I know. At least it's creatively wrong, though, yeah?
