Glancing at him again, she smoothes her skirts and calms herself, giving another faint smile.]

[It takes him a moment but he figures it out, brightening.]

Alright, awesome. Let's -- go.

[In a very awkward, lumbering sort of gentlemanly gesture, he offers her his arm.]

[She has suffered worse than him, and she doubts he means to escort her to the lion's jaws, so she takes his arm and falls into step with him.]

What birds are there, my lord?

Tiny ones! Some are blue, some are yellow...

[One such bird, neither blue nor yellow but a dull brown, flutters in to land on his pompadour.]

[She studies him with renewed wonder, as if he ought to be more... different looking.]

[His pompadour flicks slightly in the breeze.




The bird ruffles its wings before settling again.]

[Lips quirking, she sets her gaze ahead once more to hide the smile. Such easy amusement is a thing that's been lost to her for some time, and she finds herself not wholly adverse to it.]
