My Bucky, um, fell off a train. We were fighting HYDRA.

[ A train? Really? ]

Yeah, that— I've never fallen off a train.

[ He feels bad for being evasive, but tells himself he's sparing this Steve pain. ]

I'm sorry about him… about me. I don't mean to be disrepectful, it's just awful strange how things turn out different. Awful.

Close enough to seventy. It's 2012, it was, uh, 1943 when I -- crashed.

It was '45 when I went down. Just short of V-E Day.

I don't regret much, about those days, but man, that would've been something to see.

...I wish I could have seen it, too. It's not the same, reading about it.

No, it's not. But I got to see them liberate Paris. I was there, even. Maybe the best week of my life.

They had someone else pretend to be me half the time.
